Yes, Pakistani people have no need of this type of bogus commission which was high lighting fake degree, which was not verifying fake degrees, which was giving alarm to many politician that you have bogus degree from abroad, by dismantling this HEC, its fund which is in billions will come in hands of over fake politicians, its land which is very wealthy also will be in hand of over vultures politician and they will be free to get it for their own benefits. People have no concern with higher education, Pakistani public only deserve education secondary level, this higher education was giving higher education to people which deserve, thats other story that it was being miss use by over politician but its aim was very clear that it will provide opportunities to people on merit. If honestly govern.
Over neighbor country now planning to launch this commission in India, because there are much benefits of its to make education bomb. Which can destruct any country economy? But we have no competition in this world. Over leaders has completion with other parties and they are getting higher education from abroad by cash or relation. Education at any level is curse in Pakistan, we have given right to over politician by voting them and bringing them in assembly to make and give decision about public fate.
If this nation ( Pakistani people) have to survive in 21st century then we have to show unity like we were showing in cricket , we have to protest to impose quality education at all level including HEC. We have decide what is over fate and whats future of dirty politicians, bad governance and merit violation at all level. Just use your vote to kick out leaders which are fail to develop this country from sixty three years, which only developing their own families not people of Pakistan.

my guess is that HEC did only benefit the priviliged peoples children
and for money spent on one rich mans child here (who got scholarship from here under pawa or contacts) ,10 primary schools could be opened in rural areas

also its a matter of thought for pakistani nation that
"do we want to spend 10 million ruppees on specialisation and making of a surgeon (who would treat patients with heavy fee and will give less in return to this nation) or do we want to spend same money on making 10 technicians or sub engineers who will take part in rebuilding of our nation.
so its a matter of choices
i guess if our lower level education system gets better we will get more benefits as a nation than just spending all our money on higher education of rich guys sons who after getting degrees take american and canadian nationalities and so our tax payers money gets wasted
higher education commission favored the rich people whose children never return back to pakistan and so all our money is wasted on progress of other countries who already are so ahead of us

Dear so by preparing a stock of sub engineers and helpers u thinks u will bring an end to misery of this nation.
And on which grounds u think all scholars abroad are rich. Do u have some solid proof in this regard as it easy to tell a story especially in Pakistan? I do not know the current situation but you should not blame Atta ur rehman and his team. They had a great idea which India Malaysia and china has owned now.
To make 10 schools instead of one scholarship will not change our education. Tell me how many of us (Intermediates) can write an application other the urgent piece of work.
My request to all of u is if u can make things better then at least do not try to worsen it.
Every nation has progressed bcz of research not bcz of intermediates by doing so u can only deliver a workforce that is unable to initiate on their own. And last they get American Canadian emigration bcz they know their worth they do not award visa just to make their living well but to use their knowledge in well being of their society. I am not saying that they should stay their but come back and play there role in prosperity of this country which is in desperate need at the moment.

This worthless piece of crap can only be written by a PML_N lota or Peoples party operative, unfortunately looking by the literacy and the know how of the following member who has no idea what HEC does and has accomplished,

the primary school setup is actually under the jamhuri hara*mkhor govt. and that is why it is in this horrendous state, HEC was independent and out of bounds of these bast*rds, who are trying to get hold of this institution, which has been acknowledged internationally for its transparent system in this corrupt environment, as its directors come from academic background who run it.
According to the member HEC is only beneficial to rich people which is factually stupid and incorrect, most rich jaahil feudals only want degreee not the education and learning that is part of it, and that is why HEC is being targeted, so that jaali degree issue[fake degrees] only be approved by cabinet division by his highness Zardari ******, those[rich] who do wish to get educated abroad usually don't go for Ph.D but for maximum Masters like an MBA or Engineering, and prefer doing it directly with university not thru HEC as their parents earn enuff black money to support them.
HEC funding is limited and firstly, this is the biggest joke of this forum that this govt. will fund the primary setup which is impossible, but even if they are such angels I doubt they can inject much as it is already gone broke.
his move of finishing HEC will yield disastrous results for deserving students vying for higher education, and peoples party as an uncivlized party is going to destroy one last hope for education. Provincial level corruption will eat whatever is left of it and political vacancies will take this institution towards catastrophe.

HEC should not be disbanded​

PTI believes that the concept of the Higher Education Commission should stay despite devolution of education to the provinces according to the 18th amendment. This was stated by Dr Arif Alvi Secretary General of the party speaking to a delegation of educationists in Karachi.

He said that there has to be an all Pakistan basis of planning in this sphere and HEC should remain as an important directional body which can continue to play a major role in a sector where Pakistan is severely deficient. There have to be controls and transparency in the appointment of Vice Chancellors of various universities, and higher education needs the attention and thrust which has been provided by the HEC up to now.

Considering the dire straits in which we find primary and secondary education in the country it would be foolish of the government to devolve the HEC at this stage. However there should be a target that the Provincial Governments should also establish provincial HEC’s to establish a meritocracy in higher education. If there exists a legal lacuna after the 18th amendment it should be overcome by the government.

Dr Alvi said that it is surprising to note that even appointments of Vice Chancellors in Pakistan are political and it is not even necessary for the appointee to have a PhD. The result is that such appointees who have no academic excellence ensure that meritocracy in academia is defeated and we continue to produce mediocre scientists and professionals. PTI wants that established institutions like the HEC which have performed well and should not be sacrificed to achieve greater political control in area where merit should prosper.
