There was an open debate in Musharraf era and in the end everyone agreed that we need Kalabagh and new dams but people are so naive it's frustating.

Actually this problem has been politicized to such an extent that reversal from their stance will mean political death of ANP. Not to mention the annual aid of Indians to Kalabagh Bashing politicians.

The PPP govt is not really interested in building the kalabagh dam. the more pakis suffer the more ANP get disgraced, which is what the PPP wants.
because of recent blasts ANP is gone into oblivion and too scared to even make statements. the ANP has not done an iota of thing for th KPK people. If anything they have hurt them by being so insensitive to the needs of their people.
if Patriots were the government, we would publicize and do an effective public campaign and lobbying with the PKP govt. If needed put the kalabagh river/falls under fed parks/forests. Then FED can do with that what ever they want.
But the best way we would have have accomplished is to pour money in KP for developments and beat the ANP that way. When people actually see developments happening day n night, they would lobby FOR us.
But ***** sign ***** patriots is not in power.(cry)

Flood is every where, each year all province suffer the distraction of floods, few days back we were fighting on Lack of Water for irrigation, now we are complaining about excess. The solution is DAMs.
not an issue to be playing politics with , please stop being idiots ...i think we can shut our mouths for once even though we do not agree with other parties ... nothing couldve stopped these floods ,u cannot fight God with technology ... Stop talking about kalabagh like its going to solve our problems... hope ur friends and family are safe fahad, our hearts and prayers go out to them ...may Allah protect our brothers and sisters from these testing times..inshallah our nation will unite once again like in 2005 and open our hearts and homes to the effectees

It is saddening to know that you think that the people of Pakistan from other parts are not sharing in your loss and pain. Thank you for showing your mind. The suggestion is the solution to the problems of PK and for any one to think otherwise their personal narrow take on the issue. Only recently Punjab just completed training the people of KPK for 1122 emergency training and Pakistani people will keep doing that for all parts .Please learn to rise above the petty political takes for the larger benefit of all the people of Pakistan. It is better to have some people dislodged and compensated for rather than have thousands killed and millions made homeless for nothing , or just for political gains.

Can any body talk about technically, how KalaBagh Dam could save this recent flood in KPK?
Any relation of the location or the design of the Kaalabagh Dam with the recent flooding?

the thing is that their is a large amount of mistrust between provinces and particularly towards Punjab because KPK Govt. wasnt even recieving their Royalty of Mangla or tarbella dam from from Punjab where most of its water were used+ where most of electricity generated were used so based on that fact when one province is kind of robbing other this kind of situation would come....Even I dont think Kala Bagh Dam could be able to save KPK from that cause River Kabul has been flooded which is coming from Afghanistan instead of Kashmir or Gilgit Baltistan so this flood was from River Kabul where Kalabagh dam has no use...

@Yousufzai, Evereytime floods and destruction comes, there's loss of life and ....., whole nation is saddened by the loss everyone suffers. It doesn't necessarily mean that no one cares about them or no one mourns for them but it's the carelessness and ignorance. I am getting sick of this thing that people need sympathy and prayers but they don't want to do anything about it hoping and praying that everything will just disappear on its own. Losses can be minimised by construction of dams ( Not necessarily KB), there's no need to get all emo and hide from the main issue. You have tried to play victim and make other person bad who's raising a legitimate point, there's also a hint to politicize this issue by using PUNJAB card which is a shame, sorry to say but these issues wont go away.

Its not only KPK that is against Kalabagh Dam other provinces also oppose the idea , and they have their own grounds on base of which they r against its construction.
