Meray doost. I do not believe that the jihadies who are cutting the gala of your sons are created by GHG, that is why I said that. What I know about ISI and GHG is they are a thorn in the eyes and throat of the enemies of Pakistan and that makes me love them more. At the end of each argument Allah knows the best, neither you and nor I have any substantial evidence to prove anything against them. So lets pray kay Allah pakistan ki har maan ko aik momin dayday. If we had momins in our ranks we will not be in this position in the first place where we are so furiously arguing against each other.

i never really like listening to this man...he is very biased and never gives rational opinion/analysis..i am sure he has some kind of ties with alqaeda ..he never openly condemned taliban!
but v shldnt hand him over to anyone..v should try him at home and maybe even punish him with death penalty for his role in violence and extremism in pakistan.
people like these are the lifeline of these terrorists also known as punjabi taliban!!

My one small advise to people who don't understand history ... is to read books, do research and get their facts together. Even just by listening carefully to what Gen. Gul is saying should give you a ton of information. My baby friend... here are some facts for you:
1. Afghanistan from thousands of years has never been conquered ... Many tried and all failed.
2. If Pakistan would not have supported the resistance against Russia ... morally and militarily ... Afghanistan being strategically located .... if would have gone to Russia ... Just imagine what could have happened. Who do you think would be the next on Russian's list?
3. We made mistakes no doubt during that war ... but what our forces did at that time to keep our country safe ... is a glorious chapter in the annals of history.
I can give you more facts too ... but when commenting ... my only request is get your facts straight. Gen. Hamid Gul is a national hero and a true patriot and we should all be proud of people like him. Everything he has said in the interview makes sense and seems very logical.

So basically you are saying the guy who served his country for few decades and ran a campaign to ensure that Russia has no choice but to return is biased and never gives rational opinion/analysis. So here is my questions to you:
1. If you don't like to listen to this man ... How do you know that he has a biased opinion and he is not capabale of rational analsyis?
You can't even punish the people who have truly harmed this nation ... and you talk about punishing him with death penalty... Shame on you. Don't you think it would be wise to at least listen to him carefully and then use some common sense to form an educated opinion about him. Remember he never invited Russia into Afghanistan .... nor he was the head of the state of Pakistan at that time. He was an honest army officer who has spent his life serving this nation. And I can guarantee you his knowledge and analysis skills are far better than perhaps all of us combined. How many war campaigns or men have you lead and what credentials you have to force your dumb opinion on rest of us. Zero...Nada...Zilch .... Sifar.... @pcdoc answer to ur first question. i found out that he is extremely biased after listening to his few interviews! u dont have to listen to each and every interview by someone to find out how professional he/she is :)
second of all dont be under an illusion that this guy is credited for the defeat of russians in aghanistan..the credit goes to afghan people who fought using american weapons. simple as that!
last of all i think if v dont condemn people like him then v r not fair to all those people who are dying as a result of extremism and terrorism in our society..the breeding cells of terrorist also known as madrassas run on moral support from these type of people!
may god help us get rid of these extremists and terrorist(taliban) supporters!

guys watch Live with Talat's episode of today. thats the best show on wikileaks so far! they agreed that not everything like this which might indicate something against pakistan can be dismissed as "conspiracy theories" :D i salute jounalists like Talat Hussain and am proud to know that we still have people like him in our media !!!
Well to one it's own ...I respect your opinion. But your post contradict what you yourself are saying. This guy is a professional army officer ... I trust his analysis as what he says makes sense and if you do your research you will find those to quite close to the truth.
Secondly I am absolutely under no illusion ... If your logic stands true, then maybe the Govt. should give all of us some weapons and maybe we should be able to defeat the terrorirsm ourselves. Just think ... again using your logic ... US who according to you supplied the weapons which defeated Russia ... being the top superpower with the largest Army and the most sophisticated weaponry cannot win in Iraq, Afghanistan and who can forget Vietnam. Wars cannot be won with just weapons or manpower....you need a solid strategy and the will to defeat the invading powers. Look where the wars have gotten the US too ... The whole economy of US, UK is in shambles now ...
As I had mentioned to you before, if you want to prove a point ...bring some facts. Why don't you show me an article or a clip where he has said that he supports terrorists who are killing innocent people or support Madrasas which are training suicide bombers. Also you can't generalize all madarsas ... My young nephew became Hafiz-e-Quran recently Mashallah and he is only 10 years old and I have not found any suicidal tendencies in him. He is only taught the book of Almighty and all the good things in this great religion. So as I said don't generalize all madarsas... Similarly you can't put all Talibans in the same category. There are Talibans which are only fighting US and Nato Forces as they independence fighters against invading forces. They are not killing innocent people ... So my request to you is don't generalize. Research your facts and don't blame one for the sake of blaming. May Allah protect all Pakistanis and long live Pakistan.
