What can I do - every time I try to be an optimist there is a little thing called reality on the ground that pushes me back in the land of pessimism. There is not much to be optimistic about anyway....though I always secretly hope that I am proven wrong but that wish also never comes true ;-)

I would say that in our case optimism has given nothing but depression and pain.

You are so right - the country is beautiful - its just that the people.........
