How is the army to blame for the Afghan mess? Need I give you a history lesson in Afghan politics?
1. Afghanis backstabbed Pakistan by marching into Pak territory in 1962, wanting to create Pashtunistan, with KPK as a part of it.
2. Afghanis splintered in 1970s. Civilian ruler of Paksitan, Bhutto, took money from CIA in return for arming and training Afghan jihadi outfits. Those outfits came back to haunt us.
3. PMLN was equally complicit, as they are all derived from then JI, who were hand in glove with the mujahideen fighting in afghanistan.
4. Taliban was created under Benazir's supervision, under the guidance of JUI....with maulanas Fazlurehman and samiulhaq at the helm. Thats where he got the name diesel.
All decisions were made by civilians for their personal political benefits...where did army come in? Army has always been used as a pawn and a scapegoat.
As for the 2003 attack on afghanistan, Musharraf was complicit on a personal level...again for money, power and poltiical gains. Not the army as a whole.
