Breaking the Stereotype - Being Muslim in today's India - Shahrukh Khan & Zakir Naik

Watch this program guys...all muslims(top indian muslims) are sitting in the program exept Karan Johar(a non muslim)....

my feelings after watching this are....

1. Thanks to Allah Almighty that Pakistan was created...atleast we are free in our faith to the extent that we are not questioned alot.
2. How living in a Hindu dominated society affects the thoughts and beliefs of muslims about their religion...
3. Sorry to see that two religious experts in the programs couldn't advocate the way they should...

now give your opinion....

Shameful propaganda by Hindu zionists

seriously tho, Dr. Zakir and Maulana Madani: they shouldnt have appeared in this show because of their status in community. Their presence legitimizes what the 'moderrate' muslim are saying. May be thats why host invited them.

If every body says 'I feel Islam inside, I dont have to show that I am muslim' then what will be in soceity.

if you tell women, not to wear shorts, you will hear: I feel Muslim inside, regardless of how I look

If you tell a man, not to take out women on dates, you will hear: oh no thats ok, I felt Muslim every minute of the moment that I was dancing with her.

Islam is about submission every second of our lives, by actions and by looks. I can not go out with just pants on and say: dont worry I feel like a great Muslim INSIDE

etc etc

amal aur yaqeen, dono hi zaroori hai Muslim key lyeye

Re: Breaking the Stereotype - Being Muslim in today's India

Yes. Barkha was trying very hard to sound like an intellectual. but her reaction to Atiq Padamjee's statement..." where is today's Jinnah of muslims?" wasn't impressive at all (to me at least).

We in Pakiistan never felt of having such kinda' discussions as things with minorities are far far far better than what has happened in india with muslims, christians, sikhs, etc. over the time.

Your last statement .." WE ARE LUCKY that all muslim fundamentalist are GONE and we are living in peace". is showing the mindset of hindus in india and proving our thought right. Thanks.

Once somebody said. People ask me why Pakistan was created. and i tell them "Look at a muslim in a Dehli's chowk and you would come to know why Pakistan was created"

Re: Breaking the Stereotype - Being Muslim in today's India

This was an apparent attempt to discuss the issue of the muslim identity vis a vis indian muslim. I also am of the view that the purpos eof this program was to appease the indian muslim and try to potray the image that being an indian muslim is somehow different than being a muslim per se.
The glaring absence of talk about the muslims in Pakistan and the very reason that Pakistan was created because of the insecutrity of the indian muslim in a 'seccular india'
speaks about the not so sincere efforts of the program creators or to give them some benefit of doubt ,incomplete and obscure nature of the discussion was a weak attempt at the actual thinking.
I personally agree with SRK point of view that we as muslims do not have to prove anything to a non muslim regarding our beliefs and also we need not be defensive about our religion. Also the fact that we are not to enforce any view on any body,if some one is interested they will ask, otherwise like the french if they want to make a law regarding hijab let them do it,for when they make a law for hijab it will be applicable to other forms of religious constructs like the bindya, cross or anything else. This is what Quaid-e-Azam did that is fight a legal battle.
Maulana Madni is right that such perpetrators are not muslims, period whatever they want to call themselves.
Karan Jauhar's effort should also be appreciated in taking the risk in present times to try to convey a message to indians mostly and our indian members should take a lesson from this for trying to incite us and keep blaming us for the support ,that we actuallydo not, provide to the extremist elements.
The host Barkha was visibly upset over the mention of Jinnah and delibratley interrupted the speaker for she was not open minded enough to recognize the truth or on purpose denies it, for people in india do not want to see the reality or are prevented from seeing it and this in itself negates the topic that is trying to break the stereotype.
I do hope though that this will help some to think about their views.

this is height of hypocrisy,
those who were already there in pakistan he didn't even stayed there, and moved to canada(land of Christians) and wish all muslims should have come to pak.

when indian muslims see the situation of MUHAZIRS in pakistan, how they were
treated & mass murdered by establishment (as per MQM) they also thank GOD.
even today they are called muhajir.

this is your typical mindset, attack and kill hindus.....nuke india, abuse india, cow urine
drinker....and what you have inherited after indepence.....killing for power(liaqat ali, bhutto)exiles to opponents, slavery for money(to america),mess of religion and politics.

I still says thank to GOD.

Gen. Gazer, your review if the program has been positive in general, and I thank you for it. You mentioned that the program was done to appease Muslims . I wish that you stop looking for hidden agendas and leave it to Mr. Zaid Hamid he is an expert on these issues. At times you should take people at face value. Mr. Jinah was mention to reflect his secular beliefs, a belief that is still under debate in Pakistan. This program was not about Mr. Jinnah.

It is good to know from wide spectrum of Muslim community in India as to how they feel in view of very difficult times for them world wide.India is still their motherland.

It is a fact majority of Indians don't have a positive view of Mr. Jinnah's political ideology. From very little we know about Mr. Jinnah majority of us, including me believe that Mr. Jinnah would make a good neighbor to anyone of us. Its the same about Maualana Abdul Kalaam Azad most of the Pakistanis had considered him as a traitor. Lately after 62 years many of them have started to look at him in different light. This is according to Pakistani documentary a few years ago.

After reading all the replies, I notice that most of the Pakistani feel lucky to have Pakistan and we Indians feel very luck not have them!!! so in nutshell we all are happy the way we are and that is good news.

Most of the Pakistani don't know that Muslims are in minority in India but still more in numbers than Pakistan. We might have issues between Hindus and Muslim but again it is over own internal matter and we don't like any one ( specially from Pakistan) to inter fear in it.

they are champion and THEKEDAR of islam in whole world ,how you expect
they don't interfere.that is the only business left for them.
but fact is that they have nothing to do with real teaching of islam in their life.

their great GENERALS have fought for ISLAM in their whole lives.
they believe in the strategy of breaking their own BOTH LEGS if that in turn breaks
enemy's ONE LEG.

You are correct dil-se-Desi as a wise Indian had said "Hindu aur Muslim ek dusary ke mazhabi mukhalif ho saktain hain, lakin watani mukhalif nahin. Pakistan is self proclaim fortress of Islam and they have nuclear bomb to defend Islam. I was told and believed that it was Islam that defended and protected a Muslim but according to Pakistan its them who shall defend Islam even Islam requires defense according to them
