See, right there you said something which's perfectly reasonable and exactly how I was thinking about this matter.


But I don't know what happens to you when it come to IK matters, you lose all reason. I mean we even agree on the fact that most of all tried and tested politicians (and some of past Army) leadership are scum. But it's this "IK the messiah" things that you have is the only bone of contention between us, otherwise really you're so good with words and reason.


Please explain this and put me out of my misery. This is thing keep me up late nights and early mornings!

Never said IKs a messiah. My statements regarding IK are pretty straight forward.

1. Financially, he is clean, and does not touch corruption with a 10 foot pole.
2. His motives are always genuine, even though his actions could be misguided at times.
3. He is not power hungry, or fame hungry. He already has both without being in a seat of power.
4. I agree with his point about going after corruption, whether it happened today, or yesterday.

One of the biggest pet peeves I have about IKs opponents is that they know all of the above as well, and because of that, they go after his personal life, repeatedly. And that is plain old sick. They have been doing this since 1990s, even when PTI was not a political force. If you look at all IK opponents on this forum, you will find them talk about something, and then make sure to slip in a reference to Sita white or Tyrian in the end, since they know that they dont have much else to attack him with.

Disagreeing with IK's decisions or actions is something I do all the time, but if you disagree with his motives/intentions, let me know and we can debate that separately.

But I guess its not proper to derail this thread by delving into politics.

I have a slightly different take on it, which is that Insafians are no different than Jayalas or Patwaris. Each the same blind follower of their leader.


Making offshore companies, not being tax resident, using tax amnesty schemes, undervaluing diplomatic enclave flat, buying bani gala in a way in which he now avoids paying property tax on it since it has been 'gifted' to him, proactively claiming that party funding from overseas should not be disclosed publicly ------ aren't actions of a financially clean man.


I have stepped aside the 'squeaky clean' Plane-mafia or the Land-mafia he's in bed with, so give me credit for that.


Yes I agree that IK's never done a "bara haath marna" like Nawaz-o-Zardari have, but the point is that IK is equally a proportionate chor as Nawaz-o-Zardari are of their own calibre. You're not going to see that because you like him.


And my point still isn't that IK is financially corrupt. In 'artificial-buffer-states' like ours, financial corruption exists and we can't do away with it. My problem with IK is that he's politically corrupt. Yes, politically. He can gather a million man march outside his house and then refuse to come out and join them just because he fears he might get arrested. That's a politically corrupt coward in my books.


And this bring me to full circle, that for these above reasons, to me, IK's as politically scum as the rest of the Nawaz-0-Zardari lot.


(Look, look, I said all of the above without referring to Sita or Tyrian once, you HAVE to give me credit for showing this level of restraint).

Offshore company is not illegal. IK was wrong when he said that.
Not being a tax resident.....what is incorrect about that? If you spend more than 180 days out of Pakistan, you are not a tax resident. At that time, IK was not a tax resident.
Tax amnesty scheme....That allegation is weird. I have asked many PMLNers, but noone responds. Maybe you can. Tell me how does one get tax amnesty on something that isnt taxable to begin with? Simple answer please.
Undervaluing flat.......Not sure if you are aware of property law in Pakistan, but the valuation used for tax purposes is the 'purchase price', not the current market price.
Avoids paying property tax on Bani Gala........that is news to me. There is no law that says that if a property was gifted, it would be exempt from tax for life. If it is gifted, that only helps avoid tax on the value of the sale. In subsequent years, property tax is always payable, and IK is paying that. Check the facts pls.
Overseas party funding disclosure......The issue on that has been debated to death. Parties only need to disclose funds meant for party operations. A lot of overseas funding IK has raised has been for non party expenses. Like dharna, lockdown etc. The head under which you raise funds is what specifies the funds usage. These are laws made by the ECP itself. Lol.

You may make all the arguments that you want, and pretend to be politically correct by saying things like "IK is as bad as Nawaz/Zardari", but I have rarely seen you talk about Zardari and NAwaz'' corruption. You dont even raise an eyebrow on the daylight robbery called Panama leaks, and then you claim to be neutral. Sorry, but it doesnt really work that way.

And your repeated references to Sita White etc dont really bother me. But they seem biased, unless you also talk about the personal life (mis)adventures of Zardari, Benazir , Shahbaz, Hamza, NAwaz and Maryam. But in my mind, all of these are off the table during a political debate. Its cowardly to use such references.
