Crackdown on Tehreek-e- Hurriyet members denounced
Srinagar, December 29 : In occupied Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Hurriyet (TeH), headed by senior Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has strongly denounced the continued crackdown on its members by the occupation authorities. A statement issued in Srinagar quoted the Acting General Secretary of the party, Peer Saifullah as saying that members of the TeH were being continuously chased, harassed and arrested.
It is condemnable and undemocratic. It is the worst sort of state-terrorism, Saifullah said.
The residences of Abdul Hamid Magray and Muhammad Yousuf Lone in Kupwara were raided by the police and the inmates were threatened and harassed by the police, he said. Saifullah also condemned the use of force against the peaceful Muharram processions and termed the Indian police and CRPF action as undemocratic and interference into religious affairs.
