PTI Statement of Condemnation The unprovoked US attack on the nuclear installations is a grave violation of Iran’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, UN charter, and its own constitution. Not that it would have justified the attack in any manner, even congressional approval was not sought. Coming at a time when it was already faced with Israeli aggression, the attack, aimed at subduing Iran into submission, would further escalate the existing tensions in the region. The attack also manifests a disdainful disregard for international covenants, principles, and norms, constraints of law, respect for the concept of peaceful co-existence, and demands of humanity. In the process, the world has been pushed to the fringes of an uncontrollable conflagration. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) strongly condemns this unprovoked attack. It also demands complete cessation of hostilities against Iran and initiation of engagement to address outstanding issues in a peaceful manner, without recourse to aggression. PTI reiterates its total support for Iran’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and its right to use its resources for peaceful purposes. We stand firmly and unequivocally with the proud people of our brotherly country who are engaged in a battle for asserting their right to freedom.
