Also, how can the girl's family respect a son in law who makes such demands? What is admirable there in such a man that you marry your daughter off to him?

I am against Jahez and anything requested while marriage but I think girl shouldbe given her due share either it's 1 rupee or 1 Billion as per the shariah.

جو بے غیرت منہ سے مانگتے ہیں ان سے تو حکومت روک لے گی لیکن ان کی بے غیرتوں کی تربیت کون کرے گا جو ڈر کے منہ سے تو نا مانگ سکیں لیکن پھر طعنہ طنز سے لڑکی کی زندگی حرام کر دیں کہ ماں باپ نے خالی ہاتھ بھیج دیا۔۔۔ ایسوں کے چھتر لگائے بندہ اور ہوچھے کے شادی تو نے گھر بسانے کے لئیے کی یا گھر بھرنے کے لئیے

اور ماں باپ کو بھی چاہیے کہ یہ کلچر اب ختم کریں کہ اپنی خوشی سے دے رہے ہیں بچی کو۔۔۔ دینا ہے تو اچھی تربیت دیں اور وراثت میں سے جائز حصہ وہ بھی لڑکی کو نا کہ اس کے سسرال کو، خیر جائے گا تو وہ بھی سسرال کو ہی لیکن پھر بھی۔۔۔

You’re talking about a very civilized, educated, aware society and Pakistan is absolutely not even close to that...
Ignorance is epidemic...poverty is another factor and huge factor...
False traditions and customs handed down from generations to generations...
Lack of Knowledge of Islam ... Quran and Sunnah is a Molvis thing
So much complications and reasons towards it
