Pakistan and the fourth generation war
The Bin Laden kill saga has not only shamed Pakistan’s security forces (the army and the air force) but has also raised questions about the competence and capability of Pakistan’s intelligence agencies. America’s 'war on terror' ally has stunned the west as well as its own people. The west cannot believe that Osama Bin Laden was captured and killed less than a kilometre away from Pakistan Military Academy; and the Pakistani nation cannot believe that once again their sovereignty has been breached so easily. Western Critics, as always, are still raising concerns on Pakistani military establishment and claiming that Pakistan is not a trustworthy 'war on terror' ally. Less or nothing is being said about the Pakistani anger that US invaded their territory and caused a
embarrasment/humiliation for Pakistanis across the world. It is the first time in history that a country has invaded its own ally. For Washington, it is apparently hard to comprehend that Osama Bin Laden’s location was not known to some elements in the Pakistani military establishment or the ISI. Critics in Pakistan agree with the above version but they are also talking about commencement and implementation of the fourth generation war in Pakistan.
Now in Pakistan, people are discussing regime change as things have gone bad to worse and the belief is that current situation is due to this puppet leadership. Over the years in Pakistan, regime change has meant change of faces in the form of army coups, martial laws or another corrupt and incompetent civilian leadership happily taking their turn. For masses, it has meant nothing and now when the existence of state is in danger the drawing room conversations have started again. People are talking about regime change but what sort of change?
The reality of fourth generation war is being widely understood and discussed. People are beginning to understand that suicide bombings, target killings, Baluchistan insurgency, disinformation campaign – Pakistan being a hub of terrorism, support of incompetent civilian/military leadership and indirect negative interference in our economics are all part the 4th generation war disguised in the form of 'war on terror'. Washington has now clarified without doubt that breaching Pakistan’s sovereignty is not a problem for them - logistically and technologically they are capable enough to repeat Operation Neptune Spear if required. On several occasions the COAS Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has stated
"We don’t want prosperity at the cost of dignity” but it was very embarrassing to hear about just another drone strike in Datta Khel which killed at least 10 people on 6th May, the day after the COAS stated
“More Abbottabad-like raids not to be tolerated”. The fourth generation war is no more a conspiracy theory as only one more task is left to be achieved – the control of nuclear warheads in Pakistan. The reason Pakistan has not yet been conquered is due to its strength and capability in the form of nuclear warheads. After the Abbottabad case the whole world knows how easy it is to invade this land. The nation will have to see in the coming days/months (a) whether we are able to re-establish our sovereignty and respect across the world (lost due to our incompetent armed forces) or (b) we also lose our only strength (nuclear warheads) so that it is much easier for anybody (India/America) to openly violate our sovereignty. The compromise over our nuclear warheads will also mean a compromise over our sovereignty officially and completely. If that happens, we are not far from the day when Pakistan will become an official colony of America and all American interests relating to Asia will automatically get protected. Until now, America has been struggling to achieve this goal completely within Pakistan. There will be a parliamentary system similar to the time of Musharraf or even the current system. The only difference will be that America will be the real and official dictator/commander in chief instead of Musharraf/Kayani/Zardari/Sharif. There will be no need to keep puppets anymore and there will not be any sort of insurgencies, killings and bombings in Pakistan. American companies will soon get contracts to extract gold, coal and copper from Baluchistan and Waziristan. Pakistan’s nuclear arms would be in safe hands and Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan will get done for nuclear proliferation crimes. Pakistan will no longer be a hub of terrorism and the so called democratic values will begin to prevail once again.
