On the 30th of November Sethi was saying that the Brit government has put a lid on the Investigation, and now he is saying that they are serious about the Investigation.
George Galloway did not agree with his initial assertion:
Rob Crilly the British Telegraph Journalist also did not agree with Najam Sethi:
So finally Najam Sethi changed his view that the British government has not put a lid on the Investigation.

No matter what MQM supporters say and what some people think about Sethi, he is mostly accurate in reporting inside stories.
Most of his predictions/observations about MQM eventually were proved to be accurate.
If he is also right about this news of unprecedented split in MQM then what will be the future of MQM? Where will these people go? Would they form a new party or just drift away as MK did or Qaimkhani did.

If it happens then it will be a clear sign that the don is losing his grip. It will be the beginning of the end of Altaf's reign of terror and intimidation.
Notice that NS said that these leaders were persuaded to stay with dhamkis if simple persuasion didn't work.
There is a big difference in the situation of today and just 5 or 6 years ago. There were clear signs that Altaf was losing his grip.
Of late the party renowned for discipline showed clear lack of discipline in some incidents which is an indication that there is change in the air.

Could someone help me understand how all of this is wishes on someone's part (mind you that most of these news items or events leading up to these events were reported by journalists and in particular NS):
Dr. IF's murder trail leading to folks associated with MQM.
Dr. IF murder case investigation spawning money-laundering cases against people associated with MQM.
MET raiding AH's residence and confiscating documents and currency as confirmed by AH himself.
Iftikhar Hussain (AH's cousin) getting arrested in connection to IF's murder.
MQM workers beating up senior RC members at nine zero.
The process called 'tatheer' in MQM's top leadership in Pakistan
Bringing back and then being made second-in-command of Aamir Khan in MQM who until few years ago used to call AH not with some choice words.
MK and Qaimkhani leaving the country and staying away.
Two persons with ties to MQM getting arrested in London by MET in connection with money laundering probe.
I fail to understand how and why MET in London is working so hard in fulfilling, as some folks in the know on this forum claim, someone's wishes.
Some always fail to see the writing on the wall. Hard to tell if this act on their part is deliberate.

The problem with these naysayers is that things are happening way too slow. To them the only tangible deliverable - that will prove that MQM is in trouble - is that Altaf Hussain goes to jail (even for pro-MQM fellows). Since this hasn't happened yet they are rubbishing these events as isolated events that anti-MQM folk are desperately trying to conjure in order to give the impression that the MQM is falling apart.
I say this because I confronted one of my own cousins today who is still an MQM supporter (sigh). All he has to say to me is "May 11 say suntay arahay hain hum kay MQM ko falana hojayega aur Altaf jail chala jayega laikin kuch bhi toh nahin huwa... aisi bongiyaan aap logon nay pehlay bhi maari hai aur kuch bhi nahin huwa abhi tak".
My answer to my cousin was what I have written in my first paragraph. Everyone is expecting Altaf Hussain to go to jail (even MQM supporters) and since that has not happened (yet) they keep thinking that this is all just drawing room gossip. But, as you point out @mrk123, and I said this to my cousin as well, what MQM supporters are missing are the back-to-back setbacks to the MQM ever since the May 11th elections. The big monster is going down and it is being bled to death and the day the final drop is squeezed out is when everyone will suddenly wake up and go, "Oh, Game Over!?".
The positive I see in this slow death (if you will) is that it will reduce the backlash that Karachi will have to face once the proverbial last straw breaks the camel's back. It is better to see such mafia fizzle out rather than having a burnout that could lead to serious tension in the short-term and in fact give MQM another lifeline (resurrecting themselves by re-branding their politics).
The day will come, in sha Allah. It's amazing how this election has ruffled MQM so bad! These elections may have been the most fraudulent in our history, but if the MQM is broken up as a result then this could have well been a blessing in disguise. At least we will have one problem struck off our endless list of problems!

Let's see when your wish turns into real news.
the end is near, MQM was never a party it is a Maafia in which when it could not fulfill the promises or the tall claims started suppressing the dissenting voices by tactics of target killing and murders.It was a bad omen for Pakistan and Karachi in particular.
