This has to be looked through Pakistani establishment’s point of view, they are forced to look at each and everything from India perspective, hence, supporting any party which gives Pakistan advantage against India and which kills of Indian influence in Afghanistan is perceived in Pakistan’s benefit. And in this case, supporting taliban proves to be right decision unfortunately.
Ideally we should have been with the moderates, we ourselves should have progressed to a modern secular moderate state while still keeping Islamic values and culture. But we don’t live in ideal world. Also, nothing is what as it seems there, the existing setup of AF is hell bent on weakening Pakistan in our border and tribal areas, all sponsored by India.
Had Kashmir gotten solved in the past, had Russia not invaded Afghanistan, had nine eleven not happened, we would have been in very different situation.
This is a fact that India has invested and established and its influence in Afghanistan, and has used this position to weaken Pakistan by supporting anti Pakistan elements within our country. So how can Pakistan support that setup ?
