TAHIR AL QADRI'S LONG MARCH THREAD - (Post all updates here)

Is President Zardari ready to abdicate?

I am of the opinion that if worse comes to the worst President Zardari will leave Pakistan on the first notice with all his looted treasures. He is staying in Karachi in the protection of his Sindh government and feels safe sleeping in Bilawal House than in the president House in Islamabad.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has assured that his ' democracy march' will be peaceful but nothing can be said with absolute assurance. This massive crowd and mob can turn violent with a slightest spark and could easily demand forceful eviction of the president, prime minister, cabinet ministers and other corrupt politicians, bureaucrats and notorious politicians.

President Zardari must return to Islamabad and prove that he means well for the country and the nation.

Pakistani anti-corruption march reaches Islamabad

_65255557_e0hah8t8.jpg

Mr Qadri gathered support in the city of Lahore before beginning the march on Islamabad

An influential Pakistani preacher and thousands of his supporters have reached Islamabad on Monday as part of a "long march" against corruption.

Tahirul Qadri, a preacher who returned to Pakistan from Canada last month, is leading a call for electoral reforms.

He left the city of Lahore on Sunday with thousands of supporters, with the intention of gathering more support on the way to the capital.
The authorities accuse him of trying to postpone elections due by May.
Speaking to reporters before the march began, Mr Qadri said he wanted measures put in place to prevent corrupt people or criminals from standing for elected office.
He also wants the military and judiciary to be involved in installing a caretaker government to oversee the forthcoming elections.
The government is due to disband in March, and elections must then be held within six weeks.
Army linksBy the time it reached Islamabad, an estimated 10,000 people had joined the slow-moving convoy of cars, buses and trucks.
More crowds were waiting in Islamabad to greet the cleric. An extra 15,000 police were deployed on the streets and many parts of the capital were sealed off.
Authorities in the capital had warned that Mr Qadri and his supporters would not be allowed into the city centre. The government has warned that militants may target the marchers.

Mr Qadri has been accused of having links with the Pakistani military

Mr Qadri's flamboyant preaching style and expensive television campaigns have raised his profile in Pakistan in recent weeks.
But there has also been widespread speculation that he is backed by Pakistan's powerful military, and is being used to reassert the army's control over Pakistani politics.
Mr Qadri said he rejected this allegation. "I have no link with military institutions," he told Reuters. "I am one of the biggest staunch believers... of democracy in the whole world."
He was a prominent supporter of former army chief Pervez Musharraf when he seized power in a coup in 1999, and served in the national assembly under him before moving to Canada in 2006, where he ran a charity.
In December he was able to mobilise tens of thousands of supporters at a rally in Lahore, but it remains unclear how much support he enjoys across the country.

ah wish zerdaris leaving Pakistan would cure Pakistan.but the truth is that just like musharaf left Pakistan and left zerdari for us,the kufar powers have already groomed a person worse than zerdari to take over Pakistan.and the common people,s aamaal are so bad in Pakistan that perhaps this person will be ruler of Pakistan as per punishment.good on outside but satan on inside.when people will realize it will be too late.anyway lets pray this does not happen and Pakistan,s luck changes for better for first time, but when I read quran I come to conclusion that if a nation is corrupt and morally bankrupt (over all ) than they always without exception get corrupt rulers, who punish them by their misgovernanace and loot maar

Revolutions by their very nature are spontaneous and not programmed. I don't think that Bouazizi in Tunis coordinated with the revolutionaries to time his self-immolation.

A vicious cycle has been kicked in to push Pakistan into chaos.

Re: Where ia Zardari,SADAR E PAKISTAN

also I was just reading in a paper that the evil scheme of division of Punjab by ppp and q league chauderies has materialized ,and final announcement of it will be done on 20th.PTI also supports this division strangely.this means that just in hatred of Nawaz shareef they are punishing whole Pakistan.because Punjab was only province where prejudices and nationalism was at minimum.with its division a Pandora box of prejudices will open weakening Pakistan further.(as seraki nationalists are already demanding that even okara be included in seraikistan province which will create hatreds ofcourse as okara is 99 percent punjabi speaking).remember that no nation in world encourages creation of sectarian or linguistic provinces.but creation of seraikistan and Bahawalpur province by breaking Punjab will cause further division of Pakistan as hazara province demand and mqm,s province demand will than not be able to be neglected .thus few materialistic peoples madness will cause balkanization of Pakistan and in the end those people who started this balkanization process of Pakistan will also loose everything .as we awaam of Pakistan are already poor ,what more we will loose?but ppp and chauderies and mqm like looters have a lot to loose as Pakistan did make them kings! so they have become monkeys who will ultimately fire a bullet on their own heads...I wish kayani was bit patriotic and he had broken this government before it had succeeded in creating 1971 like security situation in Pakistan and foundation of further division of Pakistan.but it seems the cat is out of the bag now and nothing can be done now.good luck Pakistan.seculars have again taken you to verge of breaking up like in 1971

A vicious cycle has been kicked in to push Pakistan into chaos.

Brother we have been seeing and hearing this for a long time now by people who want to or intend to manufacture chaos. Let me tell you that nothing will happen. There will be a little disturbance but this is a different Pakistan now. Things have changed and this is the reason that 'the hidden forces' are playing these games because they can't just move and do whatever they want to do anymore. Its not that people find out in the morning newspapers that the government has been sent home and some extra-constitutional steps have been taken. Even Qadri can't freely move on his agenda because people are openly questioning his motives and allegiances and I am sure he is well aware that he can't just do someone's bidding.

All I would like to see is that we find an indigenous solution and dont let ANY foreign powers to interfere or extra-constitutional steps to be taken. PTI will have to play a very important role during this episode. This will be their big test and they have to show political maturity and refrain from getting pulled into something that will result in some extra-constitutional moves as it will make things even tougher in the future.
