I am sorry but I say these mawlanas are making a big mistake by endorsing murder of a muslim and also by condemning all as kufaar who have a differing opinion on this matter. May be they all should be locked up and given lessons about the quran till they know islam properly and that should be the condition for their release.

This is really going over the top. I think we should challenge them for a debate on islam to burst their buble for misleading the ummah.

It is amazing how much efforts we do for worldly education and knowledge which benefits for few years in this world.

I agree with you. I realised this fact a while ago, once I gain maturity and sense of purpose. Then I realise this is not the real purpose of life, it does not matter how much material you have in your life, at the end of the day, it will go to the waste. You can only carry your deeds with you. This is the blatant truth of life. Now I used more and more of my spare time educating myself on the religious and ethical side of the life. I realised I will be held responsible for my own deeds, and everything else is just a mirage, this fact is passed on to us by the Holy Quran, in very eloquent and subtle way. But we heed it not.

Take example of Taseer, when he was alive, he was full of it. He worked hard to create a business empire. I am sure he had millions, but they are no good for him now. Therefore, what is the purpose of accumulation of all the wealth?

A human only need enough to live, everything else is excess, and excess is a waste. If only our ruling elites understand this fact, repeatedly made in the Holy Quran, then their lives and lives of the ordinary Pakistanis would be changed forever.

Ordinary Pakistanis generally have their hearts in right places; this fact is obvious from the percentage of the charity given by the Pakistanis. I read somewhere it is the highest percentage in the world, in comparison to the per capita income of the country.

We have the greatest example of our Prophet SAW (PBUH) Who lived a very simple life and instructed us to do the same. But when we look around us, how many of us are following his SAW (PBUH) example?

The two biggest post holders in Pakistan, President Zardari and Prime Minister Gillani are vivid examples of the greed and corruption.

Pakistanis should not expect betterment in their lives, until these two and people like them are in power in Pakistan. These corrupt, dishonest thieves would only think about themselves and their progeny, they are not there to look after you the Joe bloke, they are there to take care of the number one.

When are the Pakistanis going to learn to have a little sense in declaring people like Taseer and BB as Shaheeds?

I agree they had tragic and sad deaths; the violence should be condemned at all cost. But Shaheeds? Give me a break.

BB and her husband have done enough corruption in her previous two terms as PM. There is no denying it. BB must have been the most innocent and ignorant leader and PM in the world that she couldnt understood the loot of Zardari. I am sure she was not under the illusions that money falls from the sky or grow on the trees. Discounting these two possibilities, from where she thought Zardari is increasing his wealth so rapidly?

If she was so innocent and ignorant, she didnt deserve to rule Pakistan. A person, who is ignorant of the corruption within her own family and can not detect it and stop it, is not qualified to lead the people of Pakistan.

I have never seen one single PPP supporter responding to my questions. I have spent some time on their blog LBUP, but their writers are devoid of any sense and maturity. They produce tons of meaningless material, mostly cut and paste jobs from different sources. But critical thinking and logical approach is in short supply. No wonder Pakistan is in perils.

May Allah SWT bless Pakistan and allow her citizens to live in peace and prosperity. But this could only become reality once they get rid of these corrupt leaders.

I am upset to see some member not sad for this tragic death. Salman Taseer was very liberal,educated,intellectual,fun lover,enlightened moderate and much more. He had some weak points also. We all do.
However his stand on blasphemy law cost him his life. I totally support his position. This law was made by Zia ul Haq to appease "mullas". This law is not the word of God or his Prophet. So, if that law has been misused by some people to punish poor and helpless minorities then why can't it be changed or abolished. I agree with Mr. Ghamdi that this law should apply to muslims only.
Down with all mullas who are issuing fatwas against him. Allah may forgive all his sins because he tried to help poor Aasia BB.

[Bukhari] And yet, Salman Taseer was certainly a Muslim who died an innocent death, yes he died as a person wronged (oppressed) and we pray Allaah for his forgiveness. As for his assassin, then he's a criminal, and those who pay him homage are partnering him in his crime against Allaah Ta'aala, His Rasoolﷺ, and the Book with which he came that prohibits taking of sacred life.
