China has a bigger population right now but does NOT have no where near the toilet problem you have!...again ...common sense is not that common in your case [hilar][hilar][hilar]

It would be better for you ...if you dont think of a response to intelligent questions sitting in the toilet ...as usual they leave a stink
[hilar][hilar][hilar][hilar]

CHINA has a big problem in this department to(yapping) They have one child policy (clap)(clap) that will reduce their population very sharply in couple of decades.

Now come up with a better example with your pea Bra**

Your right ....the toilet problem seems to stem from not only cultural values but the general attitude of the people of india as well. I guess they are miles behind of other citizens in the region which have moved on by helping their fellow citizens. Here is a comment from one member that reflects the general un-helpful psyche of some indians (bigsmile)

Unicorn: This member is not giving one red cent. It is u r a** you look after is my motto.

It seems the problem is more deep rooted than meets the eye. Seems lack of toilets are cultural norms adapted by Indian society which is very worrisome. Check this article by Indian journalistIs India's lack of toilets a cultural problem?

This love is but natural. End-ians have been under our patronage for more than 1000-years. Fed and bread properly. But unluckily, they proved themselves incompetent to sustain that standard after they were trusted to carry on independently. We are giving a very heedful note to their sorry self, state of affairs, and figure. And are seriously thinking to take them again under our benevolent protection, in case they do not show certain level of improvement after a specific time. We feel duty bound to help live our former subjects.

I beg to differ the opinion "deeply rooted in culture". When they were our subjects or under our benevolent patronage, they didn't have any such problem. It is only after that they have developed this culture indigenously to match their level.

This is not the matter of common sense, that you don't have. It is matter of fact here is the list of countries with the highest number of people who don't have access to toilet, not per capita. Now digest this before thinking where to deficate[hilar][hilar][hilar][hilar]

5 Pakistan
4 Ethiopia
3 CHINA

You are listed no 11 in the index of failed states[hilar][hilar][hilar]

You have lost it indeed [hilar][hilar][hilar][hilar]

China has a mere 50 million people compared to india's 638 million who dont have access to a toilet...How did that happen ?? ...had the chinese thought like you ...they wouldnt have such a low number of people compared to you who defecate out in the open [hilar][hilar][hilar]

How can someone compare India at # 1 with 638 million and China # 3 with only 50 million????? This is the most ludicrous comparison!!!!!!

this is not comparison based on percentage of population , but the countries mentioned are in descending order of total numbers lacking this facility.................i.e. say a country x has say for example 90% population who don't have this facility, but the total population is only 40 million, so 36 million (90%) will be placed lower in the order..........

Yeah in other words what the Indians are trying to say is that when you see statistics like these where India is at the bottom of the barrel then please immediately invert the order or take a look at statistics in a non-relative term to somehow give INdia a false sense of hope [hilar][hilar][hilar][hilar][hilar]

They dont want to address the problem but would rather "Invert the statistics at NON-relevant terms" and be happy to present their failed argument [hilar][hilar][hilar]

Even with that they still have 638 million people without toilets ...

This is the most laughable position

Over 67% of rural homes still lack toilet in India : Indian Government

Over 67% of rural homes still lack toilet in India: Govt
TNN | Aug 16, 2013, 04.41 AM IST

funny-elephant-toilets.jpg

NEW DELHI: Inclusive growth and providing basic amenities to people living in rural areas dominates political discourse but recent government data shows that over 67% of rural households don't have access to toilets while members of at least 22% rural households have to trudge more than half a kilometer to fetch drinking water.

According to data released by the drinking water and sanitation ministry, in Jharkhand, over 91% villagers have no access to toilets while in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh - two fast growing states - over 85% of the rural population lack this basic facility. Odisha ranks fourth. Quoting the Census 2011 data, minister of state Bharatsinh Solanki told Lok Sabha that the condition was equally bad in Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

This shows that the government has a tough task ahead of it to achieve its target of 100% sanitation for all rural households in the next nine years.

Solanki's submission on availability of drinking water also shows how a large chunk of rural population has to cover long distances to get potable water. One-fifth of the rural population in India has water supply points at a distance of more than 500 metres from their homes. In the case of at least 11 states, three in every 10 households are deprived of easy access to drinking water. These include Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal besides north-eastern states such as Manipur and Mizoram.

Indeed a horrible situation and Pakistan is ready to provide emergency assistance should it be requested.:) The situation is getting DIRE day by day and we have some Indians worried about keeping their bikes when they should instead be selling those and assisting the poor in setting up more toilets (bigsmile)

Lets hope some sense will prevail for those people.

The funny thing is they are still planning a mars mission which the former head of the indian space agency has already termed as a "publicity stunt" ...so they will spend 400 million on an ad campaign but cant build enough toilets [hilar][hilar][hilar]
