This is really a misleading news. First of all the QS ranking system is not the most reputed ranking system and secondly the ranking of Quaid e Azam university is just for Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing field and not for the overall ranking of Universities in the world. But the interesting point to note is that even in Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing the academic score of university is 2.4 out of 100 and faculty score is 5.2 out of 100 ... the only reason why it is mentioned in 51-100 position is because of the citation score which is 92.8.
These scores leads to only one conclusion that last year one or two students were there who publish some papers (which is really great, we should appreciate the individuals) but it has got nothing to do with the university. The academic scores speak about the university and in any good ranking system if you have such low scores for academic and faculty, you can not even reach in top 1000.
It is our nation's old habit to hide the mistakes and problems by glorifying unimportant things. If we really want to be in the top rankings of the world, we first have to admit that yes our universities is nowhere near top universities of the world, only then we can work hard to achieve the dream.
