Punjab govt orders, Urdu to be medium of instruction till fifth grade

first they should've made same type of education all over punjab (either matric FSC or O-A levels) then make urdu medium gradually (if needed)

Stupid decision. Were they not talking about same standard of education across Pakistan. Would these politicians kids be studying in Urdu medium as well ? English is official language of Pakistan & countries are now pushing for English learning even in Japan, Korea China etc.

A rather stupid decision indeed. What happened to "same education for all" slogan. Will Beaconhouse and Roots schools also teach in Urdu. If not why putting the govt school students at a disadvantage right from the beginning. English is the universal reality. Those countries which taught in their own languages are gradually switching adapting English and we are sliding back into regression.

Ofcourse medium of instruction should be the mother tongue and English must be taught as a secondary language because in best learning age, i.e till 5th grade, kids remain confused.
But
English should be taught properly and key terms of science should he in English.
Reduce disparity in education systems private and govt should be similar.

This is A great step to promote the national language in the country. But Focus should be to make children The English or All curriculum must have urdu version too. So, All students may entertained the real essence of urdu. I have seen one newspaper publishing all English Medium News channels there but is there any one who is promoting the Urdu Language Resources. Like pakistan english news

Urdu is the mother tongue, and is a language that easily connects every Pakistani to another.
Urdu had always been compulsory in syllabus but with time importance of connecting Pakistanis together was taken over by greed, and it became not as important in Government schools, and Private schools totally eliminated any language other than English, and made it the highest standard of education. This order is specially for those schools who use to say we just teach in English, and this is a good step to bring Pakistanis closer to each other, this restriction should be all over Pakistan.

بہت اچھا فیصلہ ہے اگر اس پر پوری طرح سے عمل کیا جائے۔ بچہ ہمیشہ اپنی مادری زبان میں ہی ہر بات کو بہترین طریقے سے سیکھ سکتا ہے۔ ورنہ بس رٹہ ہی لگاتا ہے اور اسکے کسی بھی مضمون کے بنیادی تصورات پختہ نہیں ہو پاتے۔ انگلش کو بطور زبان کے ضرور پڑھانا چاہئے بلکہ بہت اچھے طریقے سے پڑھانا چاہئے کیونکہ میں نے دیکھا ہے تمام مضامین انگلش میں پڑھ کر بھی ہمارے اوسط معیار کے بچے انگلش کا ایک جملہ بھی ٹھیک طرح سے لکھ نہٰیں پاتے۔​

Very Good Decision. Urdu hmari qomi aur sarkari zabaan hai. Taleem Urdu mein hi honi chaiye ta k jo kuch hum parhty hain wo samajh b aye. Bl k mulk k tamaam idaaron mein English ko khatam kr k Urdu naafiz krni Chaiye.

Really understanding is always in their own language which is understood generally.
Japan Iran Germany Russia France Turkey all very strict in their national Language no compromise but yes English they are learning for communication recently.
