KARACHI, Aug 17: A by-election on the provincial assembly seat PS-94 (Karachi-VI), a constituency within Orangi Town, will be held on Sept 25, said Election Commissioner of Sindh Sono Khan Baloch on Tuesday.

The election commissioner told Dawn that nomination papers could be filed on Aug 18 and 19. A final list of candidates would be released on Sept 3, he said.

The seat had fallen vacant on Aug 2 with the assassination of MPA Syed Raza Haider who was elected on a ticket of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement in the February 2008 elections.

Unless Army and Agencies are ABLE to CONTROL Kati Paharhi and Banarus then Killing would be Avoided but if not then their are chances of election being Bloody cause MQM have their position due to Majority of Urdu speakers and also Some votes of Christian Community as well....

I second you because the population of Urdu Speakers are more then population of Pashtuns there and also cause Pashtun Votes would be Divided among ANP and PPP candidate while MQM would have their there Voters intact...

Army can not enter unless called by the province which wont be the case. This is a major flaw in parliamentary democrazy. in 1982 during Ocka crisis, Quebec had to call the Army, Canada couldnt send until requested.

Same thing in KHI, literally 1000's have died just in target killings but the provincial govt wont call the army. May Allah save all our citizens. Election process is not working in Pakistan, therefore must be revised.

So that is the reason why our Establishment is planning to change the DEMOGRAPHICS of the City in order to Limit MQM's Vote Bank....Ask yourself If MQM never had any support among the Majority of Karachiite then why would Our Establishment need to Change karachi's demographics to get rid of MQM????

Syed Rais Ahmed Kazmi PPP = 4,649
Jamati MMA = 2,630

There is no comparison between MQM and others. MQM rocks!
