KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari on advice of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Giani appointed Senator Maula Baksh Chandio as the new Law Minister on Friday night, DawnNews reported.

Senator Maula Baksh Chandio belongs to District Nawabshah and is considered as one of the senior PPP workers.

President appoints Moula Bakhsh Chandio as law minister

President appoints Moula Bakhsh Chandio as law minister Advocate Farooq Awan appointed as Advisor to Law Minister.



President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday appointed Senator Moula Bakhsh Chandio as the new Law Minister and Advocate Farooq Awan as Advisor to Law Minister.
According to President’s Spokesperson Farhatullah Babar, the president made these appointments on the advice of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani. He said that both would take oath of the office on Saturday.

It is pertinent to mention here, former law minister Babar Awan resigned to plead ZAB reference case in Supreme Court.

Senator Moula Bakhsh Chandio belongs to District Nawabshah and is considered as one of the senior PPP workers, while Farooq Awan is younger brother of former law minister Babar Awan.

Senator Moula Bukhsh Chandio appointed as new Federal Law Minister

Senator Moula Baksh Chandio has been appointed as the new Federal Law Minister.

The senator has been appointed by President Asif Ali Zardari on the advice of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani.

His appointment came after the former Law Minister, Babar Awan vacated the ministerial post. He had been asked to vacate the post of minister by the Supreme Court in order to represent the Government in the reopened Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Murder case.

The Government, under the 18th Amendment had filed a reference with the Supreme Court to reopen the case.

Farooq Awan has been appointed as his advisor.[/COLOR][/I]
