the Padma Shri given to a Kashmiri named Ghulam Mohammad Mir. Also known as Muma Kana, Mir is a trained counter insurgent, and has been accused of murder and human rights violations.

Mir, however, says he's an Ikhwani - in the valley, Ikhwanis are militants who have surrendered and now fight on behalf of security forces.

Mir claims he is a key information-gatherer and he claims to have helped in the arrests of more than 5000 militants. He says he has dozens of certificates from the security forces, acknowledging his contribution.

I agree with Sher Khan. Karkare was a good man and Coronal Purohit should be prosecuted ASAP. Two wrong does not make one right.
Here is the issue, If Pakistan stop doing what they been doing it in Kashmir and leave the Kashmir issue to India and Kashiries then People like Coronal Purohit will not have any support in India.

He lost his life sacing India from pakistan sent mercenaries so there is no doubt he was a good man..

Purohit is being prosecuted if found guilty will be punished.. Bottomline India is not Pakistan we don't have bana rapublic style judiciary and executive those who found accused would have to face the court as simple as that..

My indian friends do you know how hard it is to fight jihad in kashmir ?? Let me tell you , first you have to be trained in a terrorist camp somewhere in pakistan for a 6 months to a year. Then you have to try and cross the border. If the Pakistan army sees you cross you will be shot without warning.Then you have to make you way through the dense jungles and mountains with out lighting a fire to keep warm. If the indian army of BSF see you you will be shot. Once you get thru the jungle u have to cross an electrified fence several metres high which is regularly patrolled by the indian border security force. Once you get across the electric fence you have to avoid the mines planted by india to keep intruders out. And you can get through all this u can go and fight jihad in Kashmir. It was suggested by pakistan that the border be fenced so that the indians would stop bitching but i dont think they ever will. Its hard for them to come to terms with the fact that Kashmiris do not want to be called indians...Sorry guys truth is hard to digest sometimes.
