CJ saying that overseas Pakistanis can not qualify for the key positions in Government or any other department since they are foreign nationals too.
I agree that there should be very strict checks on governing bodies specials who have to take decisions for Pakistan.

Mein khud UK mein rehta hun. CJ k ye remarks bilkul durast nahi hain but I am in favour that Dual Natioanlities holder should not be allowed to contest election. Only Pakistani passport holders should be allowed to become PM of Pakistan.

But, still, CJ has no right to call overseas pakistani not trustworthy.

I do not know about other countries,but I was British when I was 12, asI camehere as dependent. I took no oath,and I have a Pakistani Passport because I was born there

My Children have Pak Nationality because they are born to Pakistani Parents,they are British by British and took no such Oath to the Queen. So not all Overseas Pakistanis have taken oaths

I do take the point however. As a dual national I am firmly of the opinion that dual nationals should NOT be permitted to hold or run for election of any kind within Pakistan.

I love Pakistan, but I would want to disqualify my entire extended family here from being able to do so.

I would go further, those with more than a million dollars abroad should be barred, until they move most of it to Pakistan in any form they choose and give up any right to return when the going gets tough.

PS, To run in elections in the UK you only have to be Commonwealth Citizen, you do NOT have to be a British National, who is registered to vote, and meets the residence requirements.

Thanks for correction. I should have been a bit more careful. At least for US and many other countries, you have to be only US citizen (Israel is an exception off course) to run for public office.

Just to be clear he made the statement in relation to Farah Isphani the wife of husain haqani who is proving to be a turn coat and enemy of the country. Similarly we have others dual nationals like Rehman Malik, Choudhary nisar (allegedly) and others whose substantial assets are overseas who have a very senior role in pak politics and can influence strategic decisions. These type of people can be easily persuaded by ther overseas masters. For me as a dual nationality holder if u wanna engage in active politics (and i mean holding an official office and in an elected capacity) then u need to burn ur other boats and stick with one nation rather than having ur feet in two camps.

so you think supreme courts judgement only hold against Frahnaz and Rehman malik? supreme court judgements are like trends , from now anyone overseas Pakistanis whose honest or not will be barred from participating in elections .

lets make a list of how many foreign national pakistanis are corrupt and how many "Pakistani Pakistanis" are corrupt
