President Obama is expected to outline his plans for the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan.

According to reports, 30,000 US troops are likely to be withdrawn.

President Obama has been under pressure from Pentagon that he should announce withdrawal only 5,000 troops from Afghanistan this year. On the other hand, Afghan
President Hamid Karzai opposes this decision of troops withdrawn. The US president is also under tremendous pressure from Democrats.

Obama will announce withdrawal of 30,000 thousand troops, setting aside the suggestions of Pentagon.

Some people are of view that announcement regarding the withdrawal of troops will be made in 2012 rather than July, and troops would be pulled out in two phases- 15000 at the end of this year and as many the next year.

The responsibility to draw down the remaining troops by 2014 would rest with the commanders on the ground.

Obama's Afghan policy was wrong from the start. Pakistan and India remained involved in proxy war inside Afghanistan and still are. Pakistan considers it an issue of its survival. Heart of this conflict is Kashmir. Lack of initiative to resolve Kashmir issue is the main cause of failure of Osamas AFPAK policy. US have to re-think about this region and include India in the jigsaw forming an AFPIndi policy. This will make all sense in creating peace in this region.

India is not a neighbour of Afghanistan thus has no business in the country. Either they leave willingly after the USA departs or Pak will use other methods.

The USA is on its knee's and has no future in the region so Indian's would be foolish in depending on them.
