Assalam-o-alaikum
Marwat bro you are right. I have tried also, v hard, specially now a days in market & on roads hard to concentrate on road. I use bike, v hard to see in front or see the road. Dont laugh at me please, but todays dressing of women are becoming distracting.. Forgive me for saying this.. Even in this cold evenings i have to wear jacket and helmet to counter it, but ladies ><><>>< cant explain here.
May ALLAH give us & them hidayat..
I read some where that this is very important issue as MALES are more sexual than FEMALES, so if you can make a male hyper sexual by showing MOVIES, CARTOONS, ADVERTISEMENTS, JOURNALS, BOOKS & GAMES etc, then that society becomes like wild animals wanting to quench their thirst of lust by any means..
So if you compare our recent movies, games, ads, books, & journals, you will get the idea whats the planning behind all this, to make humans like wild animals, & it all starts from Heart, then Nazar & finally the physical acts.. In end we Become toys in hand of Shaitan.. Thats why in Islam & our Prophet PBUH & scholars insisted on this important issue..

U r right that men should avoid looking females , but it does not mean that someone close his eyes or only concentrate in the middle of the road only.
The sense behind this order is to keep safe your hearts with the evils through eyes.
If a man has sickness in his heart , he will be always curious for any site of female. Even he will not miss the ' view of heal of woman feet.'
The person who dont want to look, if he could only imagine that there is no connection of any lady on the road, except they r the friends of the way.
Thats why Islam told us to consider brothers and sisters in Islam.
In western countries, only desi people r looking around. because they wants to imagine lots of things, which r banned.
Anyway better to think that I have no concern with these. I tried this, and said "thank God, I have sister, daughter and wife, What else I am looking for?
Zina? Could I afford it? really ? no. no. , then better not to be greedy . these r just fellow shoppers. Avoid them"
This is the message in the story of tasty milk. Get committed and honest with fear.

Jazak Allah brother Biomat for very thought provoking post.
Nature cannot be controlled, the more you try and suppress things the stronger the feelings grow.
Human drives are natural be it breating, fear, hunger, thirst or sex. What we can do is try and learn to live with them in a healthy way. This means creating an healthy environment or society wherein it is easier for people to fulfil their lawful needs and desires. The answer for breathing is not suffocation but letting one have the clean air to breath. The answer for hunger is not fasting but decent food that can satisfy one's hunger and likewise the answer for sexual problems is education as to what it is all about and the right environment where children are free to choose life partner on basis of both mental and physical compatibility. Once one has what one needs one is satisfied and therefore there is no need for one to go beyond that,
In our society we have poisoned the well by way of forced marriages, child marriages and various other wrong considerations that mentally damage poeple for life. Unsatisfied minds are troubling for themselves as well as others.
The fact is, you like and dislike drinks, you like and dislike foods, yet others think they have the right to decide what you should like or dislike when it comes to marriages. Does this make any sense?
It is better give children needed education and self respect so that they are able to make right choices for themselves. Islam is against making people suffer. It is anti oppression, anti suppression, anti injustice, anti unfairness, anti ignorance and anti poverty. Please learn proper islam properly yourselves and share it with others. What we send out will come round and affect us one day. If we sent out good for others that good will keep spreading till it comes back all around us but if we send out bad then that bad will keep on spreading and one day we will be prisoners of that bad.
It is like we place a flower with a very nice smell in the room in a corner and the smell starts spreading in all directions filling the room and so it reaches us and if we put and smelly egg in there then that is what will reach us. Our world is like a room. It is up to us to fill it with good things or bad things, good things will make us feel good and bad things will make us feel bad.
Unsatisfied lives produce more unsatisfied lives and thereby spread unhappiness or sadness and trouble. Help make this world a better place by being part of it ie help educate others This is islam.
A loving couple will bring up a loving family resuting in to a loving tribe and likewise a loving city and countr and world.

Lowering the Gaze
It is reported that Salmn Al-Frs Allh be pleased with him said:
I would rather die and be resurrected, die and be resurrected, and again die and be resurrected than to see the private part of a Muslims body or for a Muslim to see mine.

It is reported that Abdullh b, Umar Allh have mercy on him said:
Verily, part of disregarding the trust upon you is to look inside [other people's] apartments and houses.
Ibn Ab Al-Duny, Kitb Al-Wara article 71.
It is reported that Anas b. Mlik Allh be pleased with him said:
If a woman passes in front of you, lower your eyes until she has passed by.
Ibid. article 72.
It is reported that Al-Al b. Ziyd Allh have mercy on him said:
Let not your sight follow the nice looking back of a woman [as she passed], for indeed the look causes the desire in the heart.
Ibid. article 77.
It is reported on the authority of Al-Wak b. Al-Jarrh:
We went out one Eid with Sufyn Al-Thawr and he said, The first thing we will do on this day of ours is to lower our gaze.
Ibid. article 66.
It is reported that Hassn b. Ab Sinn Allh have mercy on him
went out one Eid and when he returned home his wife said, How many beautiful women have you looked at today? After she kept asking him, he said, Woe to you! I have looked at nothing but my toe from when I went out to when I returned to you.

Dear friends, it is a very good ideas to spread the message of islam but more important is our proper understanding of the messaage in its proper context. The reason is islam is a purposeful way of life not mere a belief system and therefore quotations from the quran and the hadith will look more beautiful when they are quoted as part of explanations as to what they really could mean.
As you may know already better than me that the whole of the quran and main hadith and some good tafseer are all now availble on line and even in various languages.
So let us spend our time in trying to understand things and help spread the right message of islam because as we can see the reaction of the world against islam is not very helpful due to mistranslations, misinterpratations and pisrepresentations of islam. Therefore the need for us to respond the best we can by preparing ourselves better with proper knowledge of islam.
