Not many people care about Imran Farooq's. Most of us are excited to see MQM blamed for it. Altaf ka Imran Farooq ki mout per rona kisay yad nahi. If its established that Altaf is qatil then he deserves Oscar award for the best actor.
Mujhay tou MQM k supporters ki fiqar hai k oun ka reaction kia hoga. Will they accept him as qatil and quit mqm or they will keep on denying it and will keep on supporting him. Something tells me, they will keep supporting Altaf.

ISLAMABAD The murder case of MQM convener Dr Imran Farooq is nearing its conclusion as the secret agencies nabbed three suspects in Pakistan some days back, while the British police conducted raids in London on Thursday.


Khalid Shamim, who also belongs to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is said to be the mastermind of Dr Imrans murder, and two other youth were reportedly arrested form Karachi a few days back. And presumably, taking action on the leads from the arrested suspects in Pakistan, the Scotland Yard Thursday conducted raids in London. Some 35 police officials participated in the operation wherein they seized documents and other items from a house and an office. However, no arrests were made in the raids as both the places had already been abandoned.


Sources revealed that Khalid Shamim was given the task of killing Dr Imran Farooq in London. He sought the help of a man named Hammad Siddiqi, who provided him two boys both of whom belonged to All Pakistan Muttahida Students Organisation. Khalid Shamim arranged student visas for both these boys. The two youth met an unidentified man in London who briefed them about the routine of Dr Imran, and they killed him near his house on September 16, 2010.


After the murder, both the killers left for Colombo instead of coming to Pakistan. After reaching there, they contacted the mastermind Khalid Shamim, who advised them to reach Pakistan. A secret agency recorded all the conversation between Shamim and the killers and kept the former under strict watch. Shamim had also planned to murder both these boys as soon as they would reach Karachi.
The agencies arrested both the young killers when they reached Karachi from Colombo and shifted them to Rawalpindi whereas contacts were also made with the MQM for handing over Khalid Shamim.


Meanwhile, President Zardari and Altaf Hussain also talked about this issue wherein the latter expressed his displeasure over the issue. A high profile official of the agencies contacted Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad for the arrest of Shamim after which the latter was arrested.


The killers were made to hear all the recording of their conversation wherein they had planned to murder Dr Imran Farooq. After hearing their own conversation, the accused themselves told the whole story to the agencies. Though Shamim presented all facts in different contexts, statements of all the three accused proved similar at the end.


According to sources, UK investigative agencies and Scotland Yard had also contacted Pakistan intelligence agencies and asked for details but Pakistani agencies withheld the details.


To a question that whether the MQM activists are involved in Dr Imran Farooqs murder, MQM leader Wasey Jalil refuted this notion and said they were waiting for details of the case. He said the Scotland Yard was investigating the case that could provide complete details in this regard. Meanwhile rahman malik have refuted any such arrests( www.nation.com.pk)

KARACHI - The people involved in the murder of senior Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Dr Imran Farooq were graduates of Karachi University and affiliated with the party’s student wing, Pakistan Today learnt on Friday.
The arrests were made after joint efforts by Scotland Yard and Pakistani security agencies. Sources told Pakistan Today that two men arrested in connection with the murder were graduated in 2009 from Karachi University, where they were part of the government’s allied party. A key leader of the political party, Hammad, played an important role in making contacts with the two youngsters and sending them out of the country, the sources said.
“He was also an old student of Karachi University and been a leader of the student organization,” the sources claimed. Hamad is an Entomologist and got his MSc degree from Karachi University. He is a resident of Block-8 area of Azizabad. Hamad provided services as the in-charge of Anti Malaria Programme of the City District Government under Karachi Nazim Mustafa Kamal. He selected the two youngsters by using his contacts in the student organisation of the university. He made arrangements for their student visas and provided necessary facilities in leaving the city.
“He fulfilled the documentary requirements of the youngsters for visa and arranged their tickets for London,” the sources said, adding that the “two consultants who provide help for obtaining visas have also been arrested and being interrogated by the law enforcement agencies.” Both youngsters went to the UK in August 2010 and left England in September after the murder Dr Imran Farooq on September 16. Both reached Sri Lanka and stayed there for about 11 months.
Sources claimed that Scotland Yard made investigation and informed Pakistani agencies about the two men and their possible arrival at Karachi airport. Scotland Yard also provided the complete data of the two men. Ready for the arrests, agencies apprehended both men on August 22 as soon as they got off the plane. Sources claimed that security agencies has also arrested another man, Khalid Shamshad, from the airport who was present there to receive the suspects, but released him following “pressure” from the representatives of the federal government in Sindh.
Later, the agencies sent a report to high-ups, who ordered the re-arrest of Khalid Shamshad. “Khalid is the mastermind of the murder of Dr Imran Farooq and the two arrested men came back from Sri Lanka on his instructions,” the sources said.
They said Khalid had planned to kill both men to remove the all clues about the murder of Dr Farooq. “The two arrested men have confessed to killing Dr Iman Farooq,” the sources said, adding that Pakistani agencies had informed the Scotland Yard about the confession statement of the suspects.

LONDON: Scotland Yard emphatically denied Friday that two of its detectives had arrived in Pakistan after the arrest of two suspects at the Karachi airport in the murder case of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Coordinator Dr Imran Farooq. Speaking exclusively to The News, a source at the Metropolitan denied that either the two officers were in Pakistan or were about to go.

Such news circulating in Pakistani media are baseless and imaginary. I can confirm that these reports are false and devoid of truth. We regularly stay in touch with the Pakistani authorities to curb and tackle crimes and coordinate on various investigations but in this case (Dr Imran Farooqs case) there is no team on Pakistani soil at the present, the source told The News. He emphasized that such news were speculative.

Dr Farooq was on his way home from work last year in September when he was attacked outside his home in Green Lane. A post-mortem gave cause of death as multiple stab wounds and blunt trauma to the head.

The team investigating the killing of Dr Imran Farooq last year is working on the case with full speed, said the source. Scotland Yard also termed as unfortunate innuendo some reports in blogosphere in relation to the killing of Dr Farooq.

The detectives said they were still looking for the two suspects in connection with the murder inquiry while a suspect remains on the police bail till November pending further enquiries. They said the hunt for two Asian looking men was still on. The police said in its refreshed appeal that one of the suspects is of Asian appearance, in his late 20s-early 30s, 5ft 4ins - 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build, with piercing eyes, a pointed, pale-skinned face, short black/dark coloured hair, and a goatee-style beard. He wore a dark coloured baseball-style cap at the time of the attack. The second suspect, said the Police, is aged in his 30s, of stocky build, 5ft 9ins - 5ft 11ins tall, with short black hair.
