It was partly due to the shenanigans of the transport mafia, but also due to indifference by MQM and her supporters. This time the story is different, MQM is in charge and want to challenge the ANP's domination of the transport sector. What's the result? more CHOICES for the karachiites, and if you ask an AVERAGE citizen, he will LIKE to have more options. A clean and cheap means of transport is any karachiite's dream, and we know that only one party that can bully the ANP +PPI folks within Karachi.. the jamaati folks didn't have/display enough muscle, so they failed! it's as simple as that. Its all about POWER POLITICS in pakistan, the sooner we learn the better.

only Punjabi Pathan have problems with Mustafa Kamal and MQM as MQM worked for the betterment of Karachi while Punjabi Pathans are only using karachi for making money like Dubai. The difference is they pay Tax in Dubai while in karachi pay nothing.
Resides on Encroach Land, Use Electricity by Kunda, Tap Water from Main Water line, Use Streets as toilets.
Shame on them.

after decades of ruin, the karachiites have seen a positive competition b/w Jamaat and MQM. MQM tried to outdo jamaat in terms of construction projects, which is quite a welcome change. I call it a miracle of democracy. MQM , despite their gangster mindset, are concerned about their votes, and want to prove they are a better alternative for the citizens of karachi..
as for the haters of Mustafa kamal, 2 questions should be asked of them:
1. is/was he a legitimate Nazim, elected by a majority of the votes?
2. did he deliver on some/most of his promises?
