What Imam Ghazali explained is alot deeper than linear modelers can appreciate. Imam Ghazali marked the PEAK of Islamic intellect. Nassim Nicholas Taleb explores Imam Ghazali's idea in his book, The Black Swan, and the idea was so confusing that he was forced to write a thick book after that called "Anti-fragile".
Imam Ghazali didnt say Math is bad. Imam Ghazali said applying Mathematical models to understand Meta-Physics is pseudo-science. The dogma following muslims trashed his beautiful concept and the rest is history.
