any thing is technically possible but its not a kids game of using just a software to hack intp the main CIA drone operating centres.... it wud require a ground breaking effort...... i doubt iranian news but who knows.. any thing is possible

my JAVA/C++ teacher told us that anything have computer chip is hackable ...so i think with tight technology and right equipment you can but on the other side of the wall people sistting with latest technology and people who made this technology which you are using to hack :) ... anyway i think it is hackable ...

Speaking from engineering point of view it is plausible but since RQ-170's history design and technology remains still a mystery thinking about someone hacking into the system is very far fetched. It is very hard even to enter a simple consumer based data system over satellites. Taking into army and then US Army the chances are almost to nill. I would say it was a technical glitch like a communication black out. Why was it still intact? The answer to that is very simple. If i have a million dollar UAV flying I would atleast give it the capability of landing itself if there was no communication at all after waiting for a while.
In my opinion what happened was that US Army was spying and there was some interference ( HACKERS OR NATURAL ) and the UAV after several attempts of not being able to communicate with the HQ went into safety mode on low fuel and landed itself.

it can be done 2 ways either by SKYGRABBER software or by hardware that we use to catch kites in the sky.. the big sticks (dhanga)... i dont kown the name of this stick in urdu plz refer to kids in ur area

In a nutshell, due to lack of global navigation system like GPS, any drone Iran makes will only be good for some hundred KMs at best.

Well its hard to break the latest 256 bit encryption but not impossible but you need hell alot of computing power to break into it and off course these systems are intelligent enough to spot any intrusion.
