Investment Opportunities in KPK

The idea that I am working for to realize a NEWKPK includes a B2B web portal with the inclusion of
1- yellow pages of companies operating in KPK,
2- an investment counseling forum
3- project feasibility reports
4- advisory board for new investors
5- Overseas employment forum
On a personal level I aspire to setup a small scale industrial unit most probably in Gadoon Industrial area and maybe an engineering company office in Peshawar along with a skills development educational center
My long term dream is to setup an Engineering corporation having expertise in Oil and Gas exploration, down stream processing units, Power plant engineering and a technologically advanced construction EPC company.

We have school buildings, teachers and students but no quality education. We need to train teachers and develop a system in which a teacher is forced to perform. We need to make sure that teachers are qualified. Most of our students stop going schools before grade 10 becuase of incompetent teachers and their behavior. Only qualified teachers should teach. We should improve the existing facilities we dont need another parallel system. No danish schools..

Absolutely correct, I've seen people transfer from good jobs in Private schools to Government Schools because there is less work. Accountability and Responsibility has be defined and thoroughly exercised in order to achieve a better result for schools. We need to hire Tehsil Champions, who will solely be responsible to champion change in the schools in their region. They will be directly responsible to create developmental goals according to which funds will be granted.

I asked him many times to reveal his plan for education but he didnt answer. What we discuss here on this forum, I doubt, wont reach them. As an alternative, the ICT based learning, we overseas even in small number can make a difference. Almost every average family has computers, cd players and mobile phones. If we could record science and mathematics lessons in local languages and distribute it through youtube, cds etc will make a very big difference. I am a school teacher and I teach mathematics and physics, our school follows US curriculum, next week I am going to buy a camcod and make few presentations..Insha Allah :)

Insha Allah it will reach them. The ideas should be feasible and an immediate stop gap to existing problem.

Internet is a very good medium in countries where Internet is robust, unfortunately, in KPK I don't believe internet connectivity is at par to enable virtual education. Furthermore, electricity will hamper virtual efforts as well. There is a TV channel in Pakistan dedicated to exactly what you stated, however, if there is no electricity, who is going to watch it?

also invest in solar energy specially for agriculture sector and for area where enfrastrucutre
cost is high whereas consumption of power is low ,for example Hazara division.Malakand division
chitral and most of the FATA area where per household consumption is low because of high altitude
and low tepmrature.

Overseas Pakistanis and KPK Govt!!

I believe Overseas Pakistanis can play their role very easily in promoting tourism in Pakistan and especially in KPK!! Create websites, do marketing on your own in the country of your residence!! Invest in hotels, restaurants and other tourism related industry!!
Talk with KPk govt!! They provide infrastrcuture like roads, water lines etc and overseas build hotels and other places for visitors!!

I believe KPK has huge potential when it comes to earning from Tourism!! Dubai, Thailand and Malaysia are few examples!! Where they earn lot of money from tourism!!

i agree with you more then 100%...

Currently, KPK is not suitable for Tourism , infact all Pakistan is not suitable. Unless until all militant groups are in control, Pakistan shouldn't open its doors for tourism. We cannot afford abduciton/killing of Foreigners.
