So what are the facts that made him muck his face up like this, you tell me.
Hell with ECP decisions. Did his tax records not show that he had earned many times more than he should have.
Was it Pinky who took over his brain or he is not what he told us all about?

It is how I see it:

1) Did he legally do anything wrong in buying the gifts at a lawful price and then sell them, NO. (That's why ECP did not punish him for buying and selling the gifts)

2) Did he report the earnings in his tax returns to the FBR? Yes he did. (so he was not trying to save taxes).

3) Did he report the earnings as assets to the ECP? NO he did not.

4) Did he earn anything financially by not declaring it to the ECP, NO.

5) Why did he not report it to the ECP then? Because his acts were morally wrong (despite not being against the law) and he was afraid of the political impact. Had he bought these gifts at the lawful price and kept them to himself, no one would have raised fingers.

6)Did he do any financial corruption, NO.

7)Where did he use this money. He used it partially to repair the Bani Gala road and rest of it was used to construct a fence around his property. In contrast, the government of Pakistan (punjab) had spent 134 million rupees to construct a security fence around jatti umra and 2.6 billion to repair and construct the road to Jatti umra.

Anyway, my question to him would be, why the hell did you need to do this and risk a political backlash? Why do something, that is morally wrong?

I have many old Insafi friends like you who value so-called Morality Benchmarks. They are all quite since ages. Many times I have to do their counseling. I value their being. And that is how I have started thinking about you.

Come on now man - please. Shahid Sahib is the last person on this forum I will say has morality and knowledge.
It is just too hard for Imranis (like yourself too) to see their idol mucked up like this. Swinging left and right is quite natural in this state.

I think you haven’t followed the case closely. It was the ‘need’ and not greed behind all these actions, which were absolutely legal.
Law doesn’t prohibit Imran khan from buying or selling the gifts he received from other countries.

I knew you will say that, because that is all we are being fed. But what no one is talking about is that this is not written in the response he submitted to ICP.

Here in this Riyasut the Khalifa took everything from Bait-ul-Maal for himself.

Are you really naive or just plain stupid? Don't you think if IK had to do corruption being a PM, there are 100s+ ways he could have done corruption (and of much larger amount) in such a way to not even possible to catch him but decided to do corruption of few million rupees of tosha khana? At this point, All Imranis do need people of your caliber to give them a moral boost Sir.

Raja sb. My earlier post still stands valid on all three points and I am disappointed that he did buy and sell the Toshakhana gifts, his wife got a diamond ring and he did not act on Farah Gogi. I am not back tracking on that at all.
But when you talk about the Toshakhana matter, you should give a true account of it. I surely won't go with the propaganda of MLN which you want me to copy here. I am convinced that he did not do anything legally wrong by buying the gifts on lawful price and then selling them but I find it unethical. Tell me if it was legally wrong to do it.
The ECP punished him for not reporting his assets correctly, and not for buying and selling the gifts. I can also prove through a GEO article that he has declared the earnings with the FBR.
I will appticiate if you correct me on the narration of the case, as I have put pen to this thread and tell me where I am wrong.
Let's not go with the PTI or MLN narrative of it but write the facts.

You should say that our laws are unethical and then we can argu on them. If Khalifa is allowed to take things from Bait-ul- mal (as you call it) by the law then be it. IK did not make these laws. He actually raised the price from 10% of the value to 50% of the value.

In the matter of fact, the laws of a land should be such that legality is measured on them.
Didn't Sharifs, Zardaris, Gilani and Raja took gifts from Toshakhana on even lower %age of the real price? No one talked about legality or ethics of them. They even did not follow the laws while doing it and their Toshakhan cases are in courts for last 10 years.

Yes I too find the matter uethical just as I find it unethical that supreme court judges, journalists, generals and some bureaucrats are given plots on a fraction of the real price and they too sell them after getting the pocession. Supreme court judges get two plots each and they sell one of them to use that money to do the construction on the one they decide to keep.

Why do they get these plots at 10% of the cost sir? Because the law of the land allows so. The Toshakhana laws are for the president, prime minister, speaker, COAS, CMs and chirman of the senate and have always been their.

Generals, Musharaf, Kiyani, Raheel and Bajwa have also taken a lot of gifts home at 20%, not only Sharifs, Zardari and Imran. Imran did mention this in a speech.
