One fundamental point in this discussion is being missed , ours is not a rich country , people who give zakat expect it to be spent in a way it should benefit most , you do not make a research centre out of charity in Pakistan , you can so that in the rich west . A charity based hospital in poor countries is expected to be a good hospital but not a state of art one , let private parties and state make state of art one .
Prices above market price of upto 30% is not objectionable as charity organization suppliers cannot count on timely payment ,just as government suppliers also inflate prices to cover for delayed payments , above 30% is objectionable .
There are complaints from Shaukat Khanum at they enroll cancer patients of the stage and type who are likely to give good results and improve reports in the eyes of funders .
Even if give 30% allowance and even if we cover for costly maintenance of equipment contracts and even if we cover for non usage of copycat cheap items ,the cost of some equipment is exorbitant .
Shaukat Jhanum's time for detailed outside audit by investigators has come . It's budget is too much for so few beds .I am sure of trouble .
PTI should get ready for this audit of shaukat khanum, it is going to happen .
