India introduces yet another Metro train in Bangalore

Bangalore Metro will go live at 4pm October 20. The inaugural function of Reach 1 (MG Road to Byappanahalli) will start at 10.30am at Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Ground.

From October 21 onwards, regular Metro train services will start from Byappanahalli (BYPH) and MG Road (MAGR) at 6am in each direction. The frequency of trains will be 15 minutes between 6am and 8am, 10 minutes between 8am and 8pm, and 15 minutes between 8pm and 10pm.

In the History of India, First Metro Rail concept came to India in 1970 and construction work started in 1973-74 and the Dream Became success with Kolkata Metro (India's first and Asia's fifth Metro Rail Transprtation) on OCTOBER 24, 1984.Metro rail reduces the Travelling time, no. of vehicle on city's roads, Pollutions etc. A comfortable and affordable Local Transport service started by the metro rail Transportation.
After several years of Kolkata Metro rail Project, Delhi's Daily travellers got a good news in the history of transport. Delhi Metro's Construction started in 1998 and the first section (on the Red Line) opened in 2002. Delhi Metro's network consists of five lines with a total length of 125.67 kilometres (78.09 mi). The metro has 107 stations of which 17 are underground.

After Kolkata and Delhi metros now its the time for Bangalore Metro, Chennai Metro, Hyderabad Metro,Mumbai Metro, Jaipur Metro and Kochi Metro.

then eat sasti roti with water (that is vision of the government)
and sleep on road side

i usually visit india quite a lot.. since 85 till 2010.... where pakistan was at stand still b.w zinda BB and murdey ganjey for 8 years... i saw india progressing and growing... the only time pakistan was on teh lader was when musharraf took over.. and again we are stagnant in current PPP era... so if u guys want to repeat teh same mistake... choose any body other than PPP and PML(N) at national level

In 1963, a huge tsunami washed away parts of Pamban Bridge that connected Rameshwaram island to mainland Tamil Nadu, India. The Railways set a target of six months for the bridge to be repaired while Sreedharan's boss, under whose jurisdiction the bridge came, reduced it to three months. Cochin Shipyard launched Rani Padmini, the first ship it built, when he was its Chairman and Managing Director (CMD).

Thought he retired, the Government needed his services and he was appointed the CMD of Konkan Railway on contract in 1990. Under his stewardship, the company executed its mandate in seven years. The project was unique in many respects. It was the first major project in India to be undertaken on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) basis; the organization structure was different from that of a typical Indian Railway set-up; the project had 93 tunnels along a length of 82 km and involved tunneling through soft soil. The total project covered 760 km and had over 150 bridges. That a public sector project could be completed without significant cost and time overruns was considered an achievement by many.

Calcutta is the most dirty and ugly cities in the Pakistani sub continent. I have traveled on Lower Cheet Pur road and Zikria street, most backward and dirty. So is sialda and hawra railway stations, People pollutions make it ugly.

ohh and thanks for reminding me saraswati puja too. i was the president of the puja committee for saraswati puja in my muhalla and remember going around collecting Chanda for it.
Inspite of the fact that I am an atheist, ironically its the pujas of kolkata that i remember most vividly. of course Durga Maa is also my village deity. So in her case I waive of my atheism (atleast partially).:P

not to highjack this thread, but durga puja just finished at the start of this month. mere muhalle ka durga puja is one of the larger ones in kolkata. someone has done some decent amateur camera work here. notice the Dhaak (drums) start playing around 1:15. epic win. very beautiful (classical style) icons.
