ISLAMABAD: The JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has directed his party’s lawyers to move the court for the disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan as Member of Parliament.
In a statement issued here by his spokesman, Jan Achakzai, on Tuesday, the Maulana has directed the JUI-F legal team led by Kamran Murtaza to prepare the case against Imran Khan for what he said Imran Khan’s questionable moral character.
Other grounds for filing the disqualification case according to Maulana’s spokesman include Imran Khan is paying maintenance allowance to his ‘illegitimate’ daughter in line with the verdict of a Los Angeles court. This act is against Shariah. Second, Imran Khan is violating Islamic norms and values by continuing to be in relations with ex-wife Jamima.
Third, the spokesman while quoting Maulana Fazalur Rehman said Imran committed blasphemy by dubbing religious leader Fazlur Rehman as Munafiq.’ In fact, Rehman is one of the known names of Almighty Allah and adding the word ‘Munafiq (hypocrite)’ is a blasphemous act according to the teachings of Islam.
He said that Imran Khan’s election slogan, Oopar Allah Neechay Balla (Skies are to the Allah Almighty and the land is to bat (PTI’s election symbol), is ‘shirk’. The slogan also breaches the Constitution of Pakistan, which states the supremacy belongs to Almighty Allah.The Maulana asked the JUI-F legal team to file the case in the relevant court without delay.
