9 foreign spies killed in Badakhshan

By Zabihullah Mujahid
There is a report that Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate in Northern Badakhshan province killed 9 NATO invaders agents including their local interpreter Friday (Aug. 06). The report indicates that the enemy spies covertly entered the area and got confronted with Mujahideen who opened fire on the enemy and killed them instantly upon the enemy's attempt to escape after the Mujahideen tried to stop them. The documents recovered from the enemy identified two of them as American nationals, Johnson and Tom, while the rest of the spies were German nationals, the documents also revealed the enemy was on clandestine mission against Mujahideen in the area, wanting to locate Mujahideen sanctuaries in Kuran Minjan district of the province.(Taliban website)
==================================================

Unbelievable!!! This is the height of shamelessness.
1. The people killed were aid workers, many were doctors.

2. They were working for an organization that has been carrying out humanitarian work in Afghanistan for the past 40 years.

3. These dedicated people left their comfortable lives in the west and came to Afghanistan to help the people and this is how you disrespect them?

4. Here's the real story my friends :

10 aid workers killed in Afghanistan

Ten members of a medical team, including six Americans, were shot and killed by militants as they were returning from providing eye treatment and other health care in remote villages of northern Afghanistan, a spokesman for the team said Saturday.
Dirk Frans, director of the International Assistance Mission, said one German, one Briton and two Afghans also were a part of the team that made the two-week trip to Nuristan province. They drove to the province, left their vehicles and hiked for hours over mountainous terrain to reach the Parun valley in the province's northwest.
Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid told The Associated Press in Pakistan that they killed the foreigners because they were "spying for the Americans" and "preaching Christianity."
Frans said the International Assistance Mission is registered as a non-profit Christian organization but it does not proselytize.
"This tragedy negatively impacts our ability to continue serving the Afghan people as IAM has been doing since 1966," the charity said in a statement. "We hope it will not stop our work that benefits over a quarter of a million Afghans each year."
Route thought safe

The team, made up of doctors, nurses and logistics personnel, was attacked as it was returning to Kabul following a two-week mission in Nuristan, Frans said. They had decided to travel through Badakhshan province to return to the capital because they thought that would be the safest route, Frans said.
Among the dead was team leader Tom Little, an optometrist from Delmar, N.Y., who has been working in Afghanistan for more than 30 years, Frans said.
Little was expelled by the Taliban government in August 2001 after the arrest of eight Christian aid workers two Americans and six Germans for allegedly trying to convert Afghans to Christianity. He returned to Afghanistan after the Taliban government was toppled in November 2001 by U.S.-backed forces.
Frans said he lost contact with Little on Wednesday. On Friday, a third Afghan member of the team, who survived the attack, called to report the killings. A fourth Afghan member of the team was not killed because he took a different route home because he had family in Jalalabad, Frans said.
According to Frans, two members of team worked for International Assistance Mission, two were former IAM workers and four others were affiliated with other organizations, which he did not disclose. He said five of the Americans were men and one was a woman. The Briton and German also were women.
Gen. Agha Noor Kemtuz, police chief in Badakhshan province, said the victims, who had been shot, were found Friday next to three bullet-riddled four-wheel-drive vehicles in Kuran Wa Munjan district. He said villagers had warned the team that the area was dangerous, but the foreigners said they were doctors and weren't afraid. He said local police said about 10 gunmen robbed them and killed them one by one.
He said the two Afghans were interpreters from Bamiyan and Panjshir provinces. A third Afghan man, who had been travelling with the group, survived.
"He told me he was shouting and reciting the holy Qur'an and saying 'I am Muslim. Don't kill me,"' Kemtuz said.

1. What is The Nation newspaper doing? Have they quoted the charity organization and presented their side of the story? NO!

2. Animals who do not think twice before killing aid workers who are there to help the Afghan people, are a curse not just for Afghans, but, for the whole world.

3. I request you all to condemn this barbaric act and to also condemn the unprofessional attitude of The Nation.

Did they kill your Indian undercovers in Afghanistan? That's why you are jumping around. Most of these aid workers are either agents or missionaries. Very few are genuine aid worders.
Why don't you criticize the killing of innocent civilians by these barbarian ISAF forces?
Why don't you open your big mouth when they kill innocent Pakistanis in drone attacks?

Mr. bons
1. I have never condemned the Pakistani Army when civilians are killed during operations against the TTP animals, and neither have i condemned or will condemn the ISAF for deaths of civilians during operations.
My position is consistent, its not hypocritical...

2. If Taliban animals deliberately hide among civilians, then they are to be blamed, not your army or ISAF.

3. Dr. Karen Woo was a doctor, and a dedicated person who wanted to help the Afghan people.

DONKEYMAN you are still here I thought you would have left after YOU WERE EXPOSED. If anyone wants to help afghans than leave their country. We all regret what happened but there's a slim chance that she ACTUALLY REALLY WANTED TO HELP CIVILIANS, THERE MUST BE ANOTHER SIDE OF STORY, WHY WOULD ANYONE GO THERE, MONEY/UNDERCOVER MILITARY OPERATIVES/INTELLIGENCE/WIN HEARTS AND MIND AND GATHER LOCAL INTEL???. Clearly you don't have the brains/you doing it on purpose. It can be inside job too so can show world media. I AM NOT SUPPORTING ANYONE IN ANYWAY BUT YOU GOT TO KEEP YOUR OPTIONS OPEN THAT WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPEN AND WE NEED TO FOCUS ON OUR 'COUNTRIES' AND NOT WORRY ABOUT OTHERS, REMEMBER IT'S 'WAR' & 'WAR OF TERROR' NOT WAR ON TERROR.

The media must not act as mouth piece for Taliban or the government for that matter. Reporting conflict is never easy however it is vital to maintain neutral so that news can be communicated in a manner which is objective and transparent. The Taliban are heavily investing in the media to change the public perceptions.

Mr. Digital,
1. During the Registration process itself i chose the Indian flag, and it was displayed under my avatar.
You can confirm it with the administrator of the site.

2. I never pretended to be a Pakistani. My first comments were in the Introduction forum, where i started a thread and introduced myself as an Indian.

3. I would advice you to stop spreading lies and misinformation, and instead condemn the Taliban animals.

Its a stupid question but I must ask this. Is there any particular reason why you do not stick to Indian forums?

Awaiting reply

[h=1]Saviour of 2,000 Afghans who saved a baby's life executed by the Taliban[/h]

Dr Karen Woo was with nine others in the Kuran Wa Munja district of Badakhshan when they were killed

By Rebecca Evans

Last updated at 1:38 AM on 15th December 2011

A British doctor shot dead by the Taliban was part of a humanitarian mission that had helped 2,000 Afghans, an inquest heard yesterday.

Dr Karen Woo was executed alongside nine other aid workers after they tried to cross a mountain river in August last year.
The 36-year-old, who was due to get married a fortnight later, suffered ‘catastrophic’ injuries from two gunshot wounds in the attack.

Shortly before her death she had helped to save the life of a baby boy who was struggling to breathe.

Her team had been halfway through a 120-mile, three-week expedition in the northern Nuristan Province when they were ambushed.

It was one of the worst attacks on aid workers in the region for 30 years.
The inquest in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, heard that Dr Woo, who specialised in maternal and neo-natal care, was on her third visit to Afghanistan at the time.
Hertfordshire coroner Edward Thomas said ‘he had nothing but admiration’ for her incredible life and the work she did delivering medical supplies to a region where one child in five does not reach its first birthday.

He said: ‘The mission up to the point of the tragedy was a great success.

'I have been given a figure of them helping 2,000 people and the reports indicate that Karen had assisted a baby in being able to breathe again and saved its life.’
At the time of the killing the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, accusing the International Assistance Mission – the group Dr Woo was working with – of preaching Christianity.
But Mr Thomas said that was untrue and that the doctor, who had given up a well-paid surgeon’s job with Bupa, was murdered simply because there were some people who were ‘not happy that they were there’.
He added: ‘They were killed in an area where they were helping and supporting the population.

‘Their reason for being there was humanitarian and all of them lost their lives trying to make the area medically better. I have no doubt that the people they helped were devastated.’
He also said that the FBI was still hunting for those responsible for the massacre of Dr Woo and the ‘fine people’ she was with, which included one German and six American medics.
After her death, Dr Woo’s family set up a charity to buy medical equipment in her memory.
Her fianc, Paddy Smith, 37, a former Army captain, said: ‘Karen was trying to help those who couldn’t help themselves, with no access to basic needs, and that is what we are trying to do with the foundation.

When she was out there I received a call about her bringing this baby back to life, everyone was amazed that a woman doctor could do this’.
After leaving school at 16, Dr Woo, from Stevenage in Hertforshire, first trained to be a dancer and was a wing walker in her 20s.

She then obtained a medical degree and worked in Australia, Trinidad and Tobago and Papua New Guinea.
The coroner recorded a verdict of unlawful killing.
