One expalanation that I have read is very nice too.
One of Three things WILL happen in response to our Dua.
1- It will be accpeted as we asked for by Allah
2- It will be deferred for a later time to be given to you because time is not right at this time.
3- Some Mushkil/hardship will be removed from your path.

So dua is a defense for us and it never goes to waste, and I love this concept.

Why you said waste of time? He has at least compelled the reader to pray to Almighty with great zeal and attention. especially in the last lines the method of making dua is very important. That's why our prayers never get granted. and may I tell you one more thing, the dua which is just read and not asked from the heart is just a waste of time and you would never get a reward of that even in the hereafter....

about dua and do not wish to read few lines from Quran, wherein Allah guides to make
dua:
"Our Lord give us better in this World and in the Hereafter better".
Perhaps it is human nature to go around the neck to grab the ear.

Janab Allah k Pyare aur Muqarrab bundey b tamam batain Quran aur ahadees se hi kertey hain is me sharam ki kon si baat hai.. Oliya Allah sirf Quran Pak aur ahadees ki Tashreeh kertey hain .... ab her koi mujh jessa Gunah gar tu is terha ki baat nai ker sakta na. Allah apne Muqarrab bandoon ki baat me Asar rakhta hai takey log usey sun ker yaqin karain.

"Ashfaq Sahab yahan apne Taajerbe ki baat ker rahey hain warna DUA k tu bht se tarikey hain koi b ikhtiyar ker loo.. lakin DIL se karoo Allah talah Inshaa Allah qabool farmiyen gey"

Yeh wohii Allah k pyare bandain hain jin k zariyeh Allah ne hum jesson tak Deen-e-Islam ponchaya hai aur inhii bandoon me hamain Islam samjhaya hai.

Do you know what is the Day of Judgement,
Then again do you know what the Day of Judgement;
A day when no soul will have any power for any other soul
and total command will be of Allah.
