Please dont be rude to contra.. Its not his fault, we have to convince him & others like him with proofs & logic, not this abusive language. May ALLAH reward u for these efforts for defending Islam & our faith, but be logical in reply. Also as one scholar said that AETHIST (those who dont believe in any god) are half way from accepting ISLAM, that is they say "THERE IS NO god" , they just need to accept remaining half, ACCEPT ALLAH & MOHAMMAD (SALLALAHO ALAIHE WASSALLAM) IS HIS PROPHET.. So it is our duty to convince them with logic & good language.. Jaza-k-ALLAH to u all.

Richard Dawkins is dumbfounded after being asked to "give an example of a genetic mutation or an evolutionary process which can be seen to increase the information in the genome" - quite a reasonable question that one would expect Oxford University's Professor for the Public Understanding of Science - so adamant in his belief in evolution - could and would provide an answer for.

He then responds but DOES NOT answer the question that was asked of him. Why? Because he has no idea when it comes to processes that add information to the genome - the very premise of what he proclaims!! His writings claiming that he was not stumped are a desperate endeavour to cover his cowardly tracks (and on a further note, his writings don't cover any of these "information adding" processes either).

Hi contra, I have studied evolution in school and college. Its an interesting theory and somewhat convincing too. However, I dont understand one thing about it. If humans evolved from monkeys, why didnt all monkeys become humans? I mean why do we still have monkeys alongside with humans? Could you please explain this?

foqia bhai,
This is the response of Dr. Richard Dawkins to the video: http://www.skeptics.com.au/publications ... challenge/

1. He clearly says that he knew the answer, but since the question was complicated and he wanted to answer it in a simple language, he took a little time to form his answer.

2. He was caught off guard by a bunch of Creationists.

3. By the way, he is human, he doesn't claim to have a "Divine Hand" on his head.

Hi Contra bhai, Thanks for answering my question. I have another question. In the Quran Allah (SWT) says that a disobedient group of people were converted to apes and pigs as a wrath from Him. Now, if you think about it from a non-Muslim perspective, it seems impossible to believe but let me tell you something. Evolution does not link Pigs with humans. (Correct me if I'am wrong) However, whats written in the Quran is proved by the fact that today scientists believe that pig is the anmial whose organs resemble those of humans, the most. Infact, in the coming years, we might see pig organs being transplanted into humans to save their lives. The similarity between humans and apes is obvious and known to everyone so no explanation is required. Hence, you can see that it has been proved that whats written in the Quran is true.
I believe that for anything ABOUT CREATION to be true, it must somehow link to whats written in the Quran. Infact, many things written in the Quran 1400 years ago have been scientifically proven recently. I believe one day we will find the missing link between Hazrat Adam (A.S) creation and the scientific creation theory. It may take 100 years or more but one day, man will find that missing link. I would personally request you to read the Quran's english translation by Yousuf Ali or Shakir, not because I want to convert you or something but because I want you to read it just like any other book you read for gaining knowledge and understanding people who believe in that book. Its extremely important however, that you read the Quran's chapters in their real chronological order to fully understand it. I have that order and can share it with you through PM if you are interested.

Lastly, Thanks for bringing up this topic. It promotes a healthy exchange of beliefs and perspectives based on logic and reasoning. I know some people on this forum hurl personal insults at you instead of logically answering your questions but please keep posting atricles which trigger intellectual discussions. Afterall, we are brothers as humans.

Dear Contra bhai
Thanks for starting this thread with my post.
I have two replies for your current thread one is detailed & require study for good time. Second one is u can say a start for our basic believes..
First thing first, as i was browsing net i found out following logic which i liked v much, that AETHIST DONT BELEIVE IN GOD, so one persons ask that there is always a definition of a word... So i would like to ask contra can u please tell me how u define GOD or think HE should be or anything which comes in your mind... The reason for asking this was said that "IF I SAID TO A FAN THAT THIS IS TRAIN, what would a sane person will reply, U ARE WRONG MISTER THIS IS NOT TRAIN THIS IS FAN, I KNOW HOW FAN LOOKS LIKE (defined) & TRAIN LOOKS LIKE (defined). So based on this logic, can i ask Contra bhai to shed some light from inside of his heart & mind what he thinks according to this logic.. If he says that there is no GOD, then he should have some solid definition of GOD to support his logic. I hope i have tried to explain my words, sorry if i failed.. I can explain again...

1. Thankyou for your reply.

2. a) Yes, you are right, efforts are on to find a way to use organs of pigs for humans. It still hasn't been achieved yet, the pigs will have to be "genetically modified" for that to really happen, but the research is on.
I think certain parts of pigs are already used(not complete organs) eg. the heart valve.

b) Also, i think earlier, when transplanting human hearts, pigs were used to continue the process of blood circulation, while the heart of the human was being replaced by another human. This is now done by machines.

c) Actually all animals etc. are linked. We all have evolved from a common ancestor. Pigs and Humans are further similar because both are mammals.
The Genes are the link.
See the videos again. An example from the videos:
i> Scientists knew which gene is assosiated with the formation of the eye.
ii> The remove the "eye" gene from the Fly embryo and replace it with an eye gene taken from a mouse.
iii> The fly born, has eyes exactly as it should.
iv> Therefore the fly and mouse have the same gene which is assosiated with the formation of the eye.
So, the genes are the common link between all animals.

d) Pigs and humans are different species. We have a common ancestor, but for you to say that humans became pigs, is something i don't agree with.

e) I don't think what is written in the Quran regarding Humans became Pigs is true.

I have one question for you all:

You all must have heard of the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami. This left about 200,000 people dead.
My question is, why didn't your God prevent this from happening?

Contra Bhai,

This is a question many people who believe in God must have asked themselves at some point in their lives. I've also asked myself this question because of the attoricities against innocent people ; men, women, children alike in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine etc. Sometimes I become extremely angry and some aethist like thoughts come to my mind too. However, I have one answer for this question. God made this world and all the life within it. He then gave humans religions / religious books (Torah/Psalms of David/Bible/Quran etc) though his Prohphets to tell us what is bad and what is good and that at the end of this life, there is a day of justice when every one shall be answerable to God for what he/she did in this world. Rewards and Punishments would then be given according to our deeds in this world. But, in this world, it seems He has given us a free hand to do whatever we want. We can become Mother Teresa or Saddam Hussain. Its up to us. Its seems to me that inspite of the fact we would like Him to intervene, He Does Not intervene in this system. Hence, you see the height of good and the height of evil, massacres of innocent people and much more. Similarly, natural disasters are a part of our system, just like evil people are. This world's system has both good and bad parts. For instance, rain is good part of our system. However, extreme rain causes floods and becomes bad. After the Tsunami, many children were orphaned. But, then people from some Western countries volunteered and participated in the relief efforts alongside the locals and also set up orphanages and schools for those children. A lot of children were also adopted. So, this is also a test. People can score good or bad points in the wake of such a disaster and although many lives are lost, many change for the better. We can call this a cruel system but thats how it is and we dont have a choice.

In short, God does not intervene in the system of this world. This world has been created by Him for an unknown but fixed time and will be destroyed eventually but till then all things that are part of the system will prevail and there will be no intervention from God. But, this is just my answer to the question based on my observation and belief.

Dear Contra,
I have great respect for Christopher Hitchens,I Have read all his books, I subscribe to his website, never miss his interviews and he seems to be amazing person. If I had to debate with him I think I will loose. Sometimes I think If I was not a Hindu, I would be an Atheist. My personal belief is that all religions are man made just like countries... Religious books are just the work done by great writers ,sages & saint of that time. Some of them are more convincing some of them are not so. Most of them are peaceful and some are vengeful etc. But believing in God is matter of faith. If you take new born babies to some new planet without any output from earth they will automatically start believing in some kind of God.

Regarding quality of religious book It could depend on time when they were written. More recent the book more clearer the religion becomes, if some Nobel prize winning writer starts his new religion today, that religion/ religious book would be on of the most peaceful, loving, inclusive & scientifically advanced religion to date.

I think organised religion divides people into groups. If there was no organised religion we would all think. pray or mediate on our own way. Most Importantly I believe peson gets mockchya/ or nirvana or muslims like to call Zannat based on our deeds (karma). It doesn't matter how you prayed or what religion you belong to.
One day a Christian was explaining about his religion and he said even if you are the most kind man in the world, you lived your life in service to others but if you don't take jesus Christ as your Saviour then he will not go to heaven in fact you will go to hell. Then I stood up and said then your religion is not even worth the paper it is written on and said i would prefer to go to hell where i will most likely find like minded people , majority of scientists, social workers, writers , musicians, thinkers, activists , and lots of great people of different faiths who were born before or after Christianity. That guy was speechless.
I don't have to explain to you Contra that In terms of literature and knowledge Hinduism if by far the most biggest/advance/oldest religion, it is your privilege to be born into a Hindu family, you share the Hindu wisdom passed on to you by ancestors for 1000's of years, where you have choice to debate your religion and ultimately take your own path. You have freedom by law. We don't believe in conversion. I think knowledge about sanatan Dharma is again rising and whole world will benefit from it. Once I asked two very a 2 very knowledgeable people to explain me Santan Dharma in one word, one said it is LOVE and the other one said KNOWLEDGE.
So contra, if you have any one of these qualities or both personally i would consider you to be closer to GOD. Basically all religions teaches us to be good and love so my suggestion will be to read all the religious books but don't take them too seriously...... just concentrate/meditate about the creator.

I am afraid i am out of topic ....

Hi Nepali Pandit,

In sharp contrast, look at what the Holy Quran says:

Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians, ;anyone who believes in one God and Day of Justice, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. (Chapter 2, Verse 62)
