17 Feb 2010: Karachi Feb 17: Nazim Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that Haq Parast City Government has completed 2496 projects in Karachi during last four years while 126 mega projects were still under progress. This list includes only those projects which have cost more than Rs30million.
He expressed these views while addressing a press conference at a local hotel on Wednesday. City Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil, all town nazmeen, naib nazmeen, DCO Karachi Javed Hanif, M.D KWSB Qutubuddin Shaikh and other senior officers of city government and water board were present on this occasion.
Nazim Karachi said that a total of 52 months have been completed since the time we took oath on 17th October 2005. Out of 1560 days we had 1252 working days. City Government has averagely completed 2 projects per day and 48 projects per month during this tenure to provide maximum facilities to citizens.
He said that a total of 35 flyovers and underpasses were completed in last four years with 316 major and supplementary roads. City government also completed 451 educational projects besides 194 water and sewerage projects and 356 parks while 110 projects were completed in rural areas. He said that in the transport sector 255 bus stops and 116 pedestrian bridges were completed with the construction of Pakistans first car parking plaza and the intercity bus terminal. City Government also brought 75 CNG buses on roads and a total of 337 new machinery and vehicles were provided during this period. He said that a modern command and control center was installed in the city while the citizens complaints information system 1339 was introduced to solve publics problems on immediate basis. The CCIS 1339 has got ISO 9001 certification which is another major achievement of city government. City Government has also initiated green Karachi campaign during which more than 1.2million saplings were planted in different parts of the city. Haq Parast city government also gave a new concept of Karachi Development Fund to ensure hurdle free journey of development.
Nazim Karachi said that with the completion of so many projects we have also planned lot of projects for future including K-IV and S-III projects, Karachi Mass Transit project and Circular Railway project to provide further facilities to citizens. He said that already three signal free corridors have been completed in the city while the fourth one was underway. The whole corridor from P.I.D.C to Airport will be made signal free by January-February 2011. The signal free corridor V will be from Sohrab Goth to M.A Jinnah Road.
City Nazim also thanked all those who have been supported and helped him during last four years. He said that he was thankful of Quaid-e-Tehreek Altaf Hussain Bhai for providing full support and guidance during this period. He also thanked President Asif Ali Zardari, Governor of Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, City Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil, members of city district council Karachi, media representatives, people of Karachi and his whole team including DCO Karachi, M.D KWSB, members of town and unions administration, employees of city government, his personal staff, Afaq Hussain Affan, Zahoor, his telephone operator, peons, drivers and all those who were worked day and night with him

2) Still think, 2/3 majority is the source of Power. What happened to the 2/3 majority on 12 October, 1999.
3) No one has problem, here we're discussing the scenario of PRE NUCLEAR EXPLOSION. Video include the statement of Dr. Abdul Qadeer & Ex Foreign Minister Gohar Ayob Khan. Also mentioning some name of people, who were present at the time of meeting, which one can confirm. But, not with people like, Sir Taj Aziz nor General Jahangir Kramat, because of things happened in the Past.
4) As far Musharraf sold Pakistan. Just read again the bold heading in the start of the reply.
If Musharraf was not the President at that time, even then, it would be the same. Musharraf was not there, when 2/3 majority was being enjoyed. Even after Musharraf gone, what policy has been changed.
5) Musharraf belong to the same Institution of Army, who prevailed the illusion in mid 80s, that Afghan is our 5th province, the slogan was wrote through Jamaat-e-Islami in Karachi, by wall chalking. Now, the same institution, has take U-turn.
6) Regarding Bughti, MQM denounced that. But, it is also fact, the same Bughti was the GOVERNOR OF BALUCHISTAN, when AIR FORCE were bombing the insurgent in Baluchistan.
BALUCHISTAN problem is as old as Pakistan. Don't link up with Musharraf.
7) MQM sitting in the govt, with the help of millions of votes. Not by using the shoulder of NRO or Deal. The champion of democracy took part in local bodies election, when constitution was suspended. MQM boycotted that election. MQM took part in the election after Judges gave the verdict that, ACT OF MUSHARRAF ON 12th October, 1999, was right and an Islamic.
Irony is, when on 3rd Novemeber, 2007, the same Democratic Champions were making hue and cry, who took part in 2001 election, when constitution was suspended as well.
8) I don't have any problem, with CM Shahbaz Sharif. I'm just a supporter of MQM, who defends MQM.
9) As mentioned, in the video. Nuclear explosion happened because of Public Pressure. On the Indian front, Pakistanis are not used to do compromises, even if India is backed by US. Indian also knows that. Nawaz used his 2/3 to become AMEER UL MOMANEEN by 15 amendment.
10) Regarding, Nawaz Sharif is fighting with Zardari, Musharraf and Altaf.
In Zardari Govt, he didn't protest on Sugar Crisis. It was MQM.
He just raised the issue of Article 6 for political gimmick. He said, his party would bring that, but, nothing happened.
He's not come Sind. It is MQM, who went Punjab. So who is fighting, things are very clear, now.

Shahbaz Sharif struggle for education in Pakistan. He is trying his best for education in Pakistan. We salute you Shahbaz. God bless you. Agar hamary dil chotay hain to kia howa Allah to dekh raha ha na. Har Pakistani ki aankh to dekh rahi ha. Punjab Govt is not publishing what they are doing, but infect shahbaz Sharif is doing a great job in Punjab.

That is very good that he is spending on education but here you should consider a fact that in Karachi their are already so many schools, Colleges and Universities which can fulfill education demands of karachiite to a very large extent so what is require for Karachi is development as Karachi is a megapolis of Pakistan and one of the most important cities in the world but the problems in Karachi are not education related but they are infrastructure related as people from all over Pakistan came here for earning and current infrastructure of Karachi cant afford to support that much population of the city while case is very different in Punjab as Punjab dont have that much of infrastructure problem in Central and North Punjab due to having Motor way and the cities of Punjab are expending but not at the speed of Karachi so infrastructure is not that much required while education system is the major problem for Punjab so instead of coming up with idea that they have done that and he is doing this first understand the ground reality of both places as their is hell of a difference their when we compare problems which people of Punjab facing and problems of people of Karachi...

Its not a very big deal as he is responsible for all that but comparing this one day with MK wont be fair as MK has his own track record working at 2:00AM monitoring construction site when Signal Free Corridor 3 was about to complete(I saw him monitoring work near Sohrab Goth bridge)....Talking on my personal experience i can say i never seen anyone as hardworking as MK in Pakistan ever...
