If he has sincerely done that without any other motives (just political point scoring) behind than it should be appreciated.
I am thinking why he didn't file a petition???? why open letter?????

Honorable Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry
Chief Justice of Pakistan
Shahra-e-Dastoor
Islamabad
Assalam-0-Aalaikum,
Honorable Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry!
You launched a campaign for provision of justice, the independence of judiciary, eradication of corruption and against dictatorial measures taken by various governments with courage and fortitude. The lawyers, civil society as well as religious and political parties also supported your struggle with full throat.
As you are aware that today our beloved country is in a state of war, price hike, unemployment and people are starving, provinces are extremely annoyed with continued injustices and deprivations being meted out to them. Hundreds of thousands of people under different charges are in jail and their family members are leading an extremely miserable life. The country is in shambles economically while we are moving like rolling stones all over the world with a begging bowl in our hands. There seems nothing except darkness, in the ensuing future and destiny of our country Pakistan.
Honorable Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry! The nation expressed resounding confidence in your entity and so much so that oppressed and downtrodden masses started taking you as Deliverer who could take nation out of this quagmire.
I do respectfully appeal to your good honor to please carry out bold steps in order to take the country out of the economic chaos. All those military generals, bureaucrats, industrialists, feudal lords and others who from 1971to 2009 have siphoned off and sucked billions of rupees from banks of the country and then got this loan written off must be taken to the task and be brought to book forthwith irrespective of the fact whether the list involves highly influential military Generals, feudal lords, waderas, industrialists, or any person, even if from MQM. Whoever has taken billions of rupees loan from banks and got it written off must be taken to task according to the constitution and law of the land and all that money be brought back to the national exchequer. In this regard you are requested to take suo-moto action against people who have usurped national wealth and take punitive action
Honorable Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry! On taking such bold steps for the country, not only the history of our country but also each and every child of the nation will be grateful to you for all times to come.
Honorable Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, my sincere request is that please treat this open letter as a constitutional petition and start legal proceeding so that the country could be taken out of economic crises and we all can unitedly succeed in being accorded with a status of a consolidated and respectable nation in the comity of nations.
Wassalam.
