Sindh govt. unseats Zulfiqar Mirza as Home Minister

KARACHI: Zulfiqar Ali Mirza has been removed as the Sindh Home Minister, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah confirmed on Wednesday.

Speaking to SAMAA, Shah said that he himself would keep this portfolio.

Zulfiqar Mirza is not well. He wants to go to foreign for treatment, he said.

The Chief Minister said that Mirza himself had made a request to leave the home ministry.

In addition, he said that Sharjil Memon has been handed over the Sindh Information Ministry.

The outgoing minister also held a farewell meeting with Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and Governor Ishratul Ebad.

CM Sindh said that his government would try to quell the menace of extortion in Karachi.

Home Minister takes sick leave at time when there were growing skirmishes between his office and the MQM.

Sindh Home Minister, Zulfiqar Ali Mirza has gone on sick leave, indefinitely.
The Sindh Chief Minister, Qaim Ali Shah will be assuming all duties of Mirza till the time the Home Minister is well enough to return.

The Home Minister takes his leave at time when there were growing skirmishes between his office and the MQM on a number of issues, including the Peoples Amn Committee (PAC) and a shake up in the provincial cabinet.

Zulfiqar Mirza had been at odds with the MQM after admitting the PPP had links with the Peoples Amn Committee active in Lyari and Malir areas of the city. MQM had repeatedly accused the PAC for indulging in criminal activities including extortion and having patronage from the Home Minister. A federal intervention to the matter was required to keep MQM in the coalition government.

Earlier today, before the announcement of Mirza departing on leave, the President Asif Ali Zardari also intervened in continuing frictions between the PPP led government and the MQM by ordering the formation of a committee to monitor extortion in the city and file reports with both, the provincial and the federal governments.

This mentally retarded PPP kam*ena used flood victims to relocate them to create new ethnic votebank politics and was also the protector of peoples aman committee, the peoples party bhattakhor who have been wreaking havoc, all over Karachi. Peoples Aman committee is made up of Lyari gangster relatives, who initially did their criminal activities in Lyari, with peoples party help, occupied other parts of Karachi, and started monthly bhattakhori, and if anyone resisted, they either kidnapped or killed him, but along the way harassed millions of shopkeepers and businessowners.
MQM's arm got twisted by the Karachi public which is somewhat different from Lahore and other parts of Pakistan, they are able to get things done, or else MQM's support from the business community was in much trouble.
It is a huge victory for Karachiites, this jerk was considered to be close to Zardari, so close we can call him Zardari's underwear. But still MQM's alliance with PPP is not changing anything for Karachiites, peoples aman committee needs to be disbanded their terrorists arrested and put on trial, deadlock on the local bodies issue and massive delays, and cancellations in major infrastructure projects in Karachi, Peoples PArty and PML-N are only here to destroy whatever was built upon and trying to take Pakistan 20 years back.
