The governor of Pakistan's powerful Punjab province has been killed by his own guard at a market in the capital Islamabad, police have said.

It was the most high-profile assassination of a political figure in the country since former prime minister Benazir Bhutto was killed in December 2007.
The latest victim, Salman Taseer, was shot dead by one of his own elite security team after he reached Khosar Market, police said.
The suspected attacker was taken into custody following the shooting at the shopping centre which is popular with Westerners and wealthy Pakistanis.

Extremist in Pakistan , supported by PUNJAB GOVERNMENT , got their target.
PML-n is direct or indirect involve in this matter . I do not think that Nawaz Shareef or Shehbaz Shareef personally involve in this bloddy killing but some of pml-n leaders like Sanaullah may involve. I hope people of PUNJAB will oppose all type of religious extremist group.

tell me one technical thing
why the police guy who shot governor was immediately killed by police?in usual cases such people are caught alive so to reach mstermind behind the killing
just same way in benazir murder all signs were erased that could lead to government agencies being behind benazir killing
so you are right
there is strong chance that government agencies may have done this to further their own goals
till than some bearded fellows will be arrested and labelled killers of sulman tasser or police will raid some madrasa or mosque
but it sure seems like government had something to do with it
as govt is about to collapse,so it needs diversions of big magnitude

ps.latest news says that ploice guy who killed governor is arrested alive.first all channels were saying that he was killed at once!why this confusion .government is hiding something i am sure!

ISLAMABAD: Gunmen killed the governor of Pakistan’s Punjab province, a senior member of the ruling party, in Islamabad on Tuesday, his spokesman said.

“Yes, he has died,” said the spokesman for Salman Taseer.

Police official Mohammad Iftikhar said Taseer was gunned down by one of his elite security force protectors. Five other people were wounded as other security personnel responded to the attack.

Police said earlier Taseer had been shot nine times and wounded near his Islamabad home in the F6 sector and close to Kohsar market, a popular shopping and cafe spot frequented by wealthy Pakistanis and expatriates.

Another police official, Hasan Iqbal, said a pair of witnesses told the police that as the governor was leaving his vehicle, a man from his security squad fired two shots at him. Taseer then fell, while other police officials fired on the attacker.

The attacker, Mumtaz Qadri has been wounded.

read above news.all channels were first reporting that police guy who killed the governor was killed immediately by other policemen
now government is saying that the killer has been arrested alive!and rehman malik who is qadiani has said that governor was killed by an islamist policeman to take revenge of governors efforts to end blasphmey law.
why so many change of statements.
something is fishy.
did agencies themselves killed governor and now will pressurise religious organisations to allow erasing of blasphemy law?and to allow qadianis to be declared muslims ?
after all benazir was also american agent and she was killed by america.
governor sulman taseer the murtid munafiq was also an american agent working to throw islam out of pakistan.he seems to have been killed by his own kufar masters anmd munafiq friends to further their own agenda.
