I think it is good that mqm is talking in it's Usual style of slandering and denying and calling BBC involved in a conspiracy, they will see the real face of mqm.
I am a bit disappointed that the anchor did not ask sattar about the thousands of e-mails and phone calls recieved by the MEt.police.I wanted to know Sattar bhai's reaction and philosophy of how treats others sensitivities!

I didn't expect more than that. But its a big step - people are insinuating murders and openly talking about the charges of murder and some the fact was openly reported that large sums of money was found at AH's house and MQM secretariat and investigation is on. The other important development was the fact that its proven that MQM wrote that letter in 2001. Thats significant and puts every political force in pakistan in position where they will think twice before talking to MQM. As I have always said I am more interested in the impact of these issues in Pakistan in general and Karachi in particular.

Another good thing that this documentary achieved is that Pak media will use this information with the disclaimer that 'we are not the ones saying it - its the BBC'

BBC has left the door ajar for Pak media to run with the story now. Pak media was already trying to test the waters and it has been okay for them. It clearly seems that MQM is on the back foot and on the defensive now. At least say admitted that there is investigation going on around different issues and they can't say much since they are subject of the investigation.

I will advise that everyone take a deep breath, exhale and wait for the outcome of the investigation by the MET/SY. Let the chips fall in their place and then it will be better to comment instead of building undue anticipation which doesn't always live up to everyone's expectations.

Even though its pure speculation but even IF we assume that AH is convicted of money laundering and is put away for a year or two it will not dent MQM in a big way and in fact given Pakistan's twisted political landscape may even gain him some sympathy by showing him as a victim. In my opinion if anything that will hurt AH is IF he is implicated in Dr. IFs murder in some way. That will have serious implications for him in UK and a huge impact in Karachi.

That was really a bogus technical reason. Its an investigation and not in court being deliberated upon with an order from court not to discuss the case.

The host asked a simple question about the money. There is no technicality that prevents him from answering that simple question. Saying that the matter is under investigation and I can't make a statement about it. If he had said that I am not going to answer in the fear that I may implicate myself or my party then it would have made a lot of sense.

In the West everyone talks about the crime for months before the case goes to court. People profess their innocence and the accusers lay out their their charges. People talk about it all the time.

I do agree with you that the anchor was soft on Dr. FS but to me it seems that the host was not very interested in the topic and as a result was not well prepared.

id say the host didnt interacted well bcz of the uncivilized way of fq. fq was not letting him talk. if u see he even got worked up a bit and in the end sort of gave up and closed it.
all he shouldve done is edited his part with fq
