Agree with you here. However the the trucks are rated for the maximum loading ad that is the number which is used to enforce their restriction to enter a structure. If really this is the case that it was rated for 70 T and no one cared to enforce it. it is height of ignorance and carelessness I can tell you I will be sad apart of my political orientation. Bab-e-peshawer is one major step forward in the prosperity of the nation.

Unless there is some kind of weighing system that tells the exact weight any guess is the best guess. A load can be of 100t or 120 or 150 tonnes and for naked-eye it will remain a guess. If original design was for 70t then they should enforce it. They should have set up some kind of system.
On the other hand, if there is a use of low-quality material or there is the deviation from original design due to negligence, corruption, an inquiry should be held and those involved should be punished whether its engineer, contractor, administrator, politician or even CM.

That definitely is a height of stupidity. And I have to agree with you here as well that it is fishy.No one can be this stupid.
Only justification I can see is that maybe the there was going to be steep elevation passing over the train tracks. But of course they could start inclination about 200 to 300 meter behind and could still save on material.

Jabkay jaha tak bab-e-pehawar ka taluq hai, toh yeh baat hum sab personally jantay hai k yeh bridge is district ki wahid road par bana huwa hai jis par Pak-Afghan trade hoti hai(aur iskay sath sath BRT k heavy load vehicles k liye bhi use hui hai recently), unlike your Metro bus and Azaadi chowk jo city k shayad aesi roads par bani hai jo sirf aam traffic k liye use hoti hai..
