ہمیں اپنے پراجیکٹ کیلئے سیمنٹ منگوانا تھا جو اس فلائی اوور سے گزرنا تھا تب ٹیپا نے بتایا تھا کہ ستر ٹن تک کا ٹرالر گزار سکتےہیں اس سے زائد کیلئے آلٹرنیٹ روٹ استعمال کرنا ہو گا ، یہ فل ٹرالر پر جس پر دو بیس فٹے کنٹینر لدے ہوتے ہیں کا زیادہ سے زیادہ ویٹ لمٹ ہے جسکی پاکستان میں اجازت ہے ، عام ٹرک میں زیادہ سے زیادہ آٹھ ٹن سامان آتا ہے

As per this news the PDA chief also claiming that this flyover was built to sustain 70 tons load, but some vehicles are carrying more than 100 tons load(both for BRT and for trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan..

Ok but I thought it was important to know if you had a better standard(than 70 Tons) for 3 times expensive Flyover at home, before you criticize the 70 tons standard. But yes of course time will reveal itself, and I am not a short memory so will keep this in mind.

As for your statement that you now believe that it was 3 times cheaper only because of substandard material(this is your belief, and not a reality, because of course a standard for flyovers are always set by engineers and this standard can't be called as using substandard material etc), then perhaps you can tell me what might have been the actual cost of Lahore, Multan, and Isb Metro buses, since they all had developed cracks time and again(and they were not even getting heavy load traffic)? As per your logic using good material is the reason a project is 3 times expensive. And all the Metro buses developing cracks were surely built using substandard materials(as per your logic)..

Pindi Metro whole bridge is full of Cracks. Get its picture from Internet. And Neefa Pordery had made a handsome money out of it.

But if a structure loses its load bearing capacity than it means it is either settling or the steel reinforcement is not adequate. The ground compection pilings and reinforcement are the main factors driven by engineering specs. And are the main expenditures.
The real problem I think is the stupid imrani zuhniyat to make this project cheaper for the show off and win political games. The only imrani monumental structure and it is now losing just Imran loses at the end due to hipocricy and lake of sincerity.

But this is just the bahaney bazi they are doing. Who actually measured every truck which passed over it. This is what they earned in race of political gains. Made it substandard to keep cost down for show off. The results appeared in matter of months.

So they are not allowing those vehicles which are carrying more than 70 tonnes? So whats the issue here? The bridge only designed for given weight limit.
Now come to metro projects they were numerous reports of cracks and quality of work... there is no traffic other than that red busses, there is no additional weight on the bridges, why cracks started appearing on the metro bus bridges?

I never said sub standard material. I dont know what is happening with it as i dont have anything in hand. I just gave you the possible causes. Either it is satelliting due to inadequate ground compaction or the steel reinforcement is not up to the standard. Both are the main causes of saving.
As i said the IKs main intent was to make it a claim that they did it at lower cost just to make the political gains. Which is paying off now. No worries, in a week, month or few months the cat will come out of bag. What was done there to reduce the cost.

I will not stop you from believing that but the fact is that this is standard procedure that no one ever allows structure to be over loaded.
It is extremely idiotic that they left it for abuse when it was originally designed for smaller loads. As as said above, the cat will come out of bag eventually.

Unless there is some kind of weighing system that tells the exact weight any guess is the best guess. A load can be of 100t or 120 or 150 tonnes and for naked-eye it will remain a guess. If original design was for 70t then they should enforce it. They should have set up some kind of system.
On the other hand, if there is a use of low-quality material or there is the deviation from original design due to negligence, corruption, an inquiry should be held and those involved should be punished whether its engineer, contractor, administrator, politician or even CM.
