This is very painful to see this CNN report about Asian people going through the very painful surgery to improve their looks- rather most of them wanted to look like american.

The way we are running the show in this world is making many people outcasts and rather than people fighting stupidity they are trying to help it increase. Negative competition serves only a tiny minority at the expense of all others. we need to realise that we must try and move towards a world order that is good for humanity as a whole.

this all goes with the trend and trend is something that changes with time... and to look good is anybody's right ...even Allah say's that Allah is beautiful and he likes beauty. so criteria of beauty can each have his own... in Africa thick lips and flat nose is considered more beautiful in Europe they do so much to get the tan skin and where in Asia they consume whitening creams of millions of $ each year i guess. so if some one wants to look like an American then i think he got all the right to do so until unless its not taking direct toil on his over all health.

Though I am strongly pro-choice in such cases, but again I think Chinese and Koreans are as much good looking as Europeans, they should not try to look like westerns; they never should.
Apart from that, media should be more sensible despite of misleading people through advertising & propaganda campaigns that lead them to go under knife.
Currently in China they are treating eyes as a new trend there, and billions of dollars from Chinese savings is spent annually on such treatments. In our case,on the other end Pakistani and Indian women crazily spend billions of dollar on skin whitening creams...it all happens because of huge society biases toward dark color, as generally Pakistani like and prefer fair color on dark skin. Evidently,white skin girls get less tough time in getting married than dark skin girls, in our part of the world.

Anyway this is ones own right to choose how to look better.... but for me we should not alter what structure we've been given by Allah....

I think there's nothing wrong of having cosmetic surgery if you do have it with good intention or reasons. for example, if you had an accident and you need cosmetic surgery bring back the confidence had before the surgery, then for me its acceptable but having cosmetic surgery because the society's standard wanted you also to have it, then we have a problem with that. i think its case to case basis depending on the reasons and intention.

If anything Pakistanis and others who REALLY want their future generations to part of the big leagues should be teaching their children chinese language.

Asia is going to lead the world in the future so it would be smart to try to copy asians.

I think this trend is temporary and will reverse as soon as China comes up as the dominant power.

The road is however long because right now China has to do a lot and I mean a lot to address the human rights issue.

If china has the same human rights and freedom of speech as the west then nothing can stop it from becoming the next super power.
