حلال و حرام پرندے
بطخ کا گوشت (چاہے چھوٹی ہو یا بڑی)اجماعِ صحابۂ کرام ؓسےجائز ہے ، اور اس کا انڈا بھی حلال و طیب ہے ۔

زمینی حیوانات
پالتو جانوروں میں صرف گائے ،بھیڑ،اونٹ حلال گوشت ہیں اور گھوڑے،گدھے اور خچر کا گوشت کھانا مکروہ ہے۔ان چھ کے علاوہ دوسرے پالتو جانوروں میں مثلاً بلی حرام گوشت ہے۔
جنگلی جانور حلا ل نہیں ہیں سوائے ہرن کی اقسام کے مثلاً پہاڑی بکرا،(بارہ سنگھا)جنگلی گائے،جنگلی گدھا اور خچر ،تمام درندہ جانوروں کا گوشت یعنی ایسے گوشت خور جانور کہ جو نوکیلی چونچ اور پنجہ رکھتے ہوں چاہئے قوی ہوں مثلاً شیر،چیتا،بھیڑیا وغیرہ ضعیف ہوں مثلاً لومڑی،بجو اور اسی طرح خرگوش کا گوشت اگرچہ درندوں میں سے نہیں لیکن حرام ہے۔
حشرات (کیڑے مکوڑوں)کی تمام اقسام کا کھانا حرام ہے مثلاً سانپ،چوہا پالتو ہوں یا جنگلی اور بھنورا،کیڑا ساہی(ایک جنگلی خاردار چوہا)سیاہ بھونرا،جوں وغیرہ۔

Other forbidden things
- The twisted nerve (gid hanasheh): the sciatic nerve, as according to Genesis 32:32
- Limb of a living animal (ever min ha-chai): in Genesis 9:4, God forbade Noah and his descendants to consume a limb torn from a live animal
- Injured (terefah): an animal with a significant defect or injury, such as a fractured bone or particular types of lung adhesions.
- Blood (dam): blood of kosher mammals and fowl is removed through salting, with special procedures for the liver, which is very rich in blood.
- The Bible considers certain fats in oxen, sheep, and goats to be forbidden (Leviticus 7:23-25). All forbidden fat (helev), such as fat covering the kidney, the spleen, and certain inward parts of the animal, must be removed
- meat from a Khoser animal that has not been slaughtered
- It is forbidden to slaughter the parent with its young on the same day (Leviticus 22:28).
- cocking a kid in its mother's milk(Deuteronomy 14:21)
- All the things forbidden in Tohra are also forbidden for Muslims unless Quran allows it like eating of the camel meat
