Tomato crossing 300 wasn't just cause of demand and supply. It was cause of mafia and government failure to stop them.Even after Tomato were imported from Iran, Prices didn't drop. Why do you think was that?....The same thing will happen again this winter and they will fail again to stop it.Just wait and see.
Such a low price is exploitation of farmer. Govt needs to improve supply chain and storage otherwise both farmers and consumers will be looted by mafia.
The price of other commodities of daily use are still too high.Gas and electricity rates have been raised too much that in turn has led to rise in overall inflation.
The govt could have negotiated with the imf in a better way, instead it blindly agreed to all the imf conditions, hence the out of control inflation.
The govt still has time to improve the economy, let's see how far it succeeds. This Govt took a long time and discussion to agree with IMF...If you dont remember i can recall you that opposition was shouting on Govt why not making deal soon.
But again you cant be beggar and chooser at same time. The thing is why we needed to go IMF ?
A bankrupt economy handed over by PMLN

Storage for perishable items never a good idea
Those countries are interlinked with easy trade infrastructure, most of Europe, uae etc, they have a steady and relatable supplier from different suppliers with frequent air and land routesHow is supply/ demand controlled in other countries where prices remain relatively stable?
So looks like the problem is on the supply side. We need to modernize our agricultural sector with use of new technologies, better storage facilities (including cold storage), and a more streamlined and efficient supply chain. The demand side appears to be relatively stable. Those countries are interlinked with easy trade infrastructure, most of Europe, uae etc, they have a steady and relatable supplier from different suppliers with frequent air and land routes
Tunnel farming might also have a good effect on maintaining steady supply
Yes a lot of modernisation is needed in many sectors. Agri is so crucial, Israelis and other developed countries have achieved unthinkable milestones by latest techniques, drip irrigation, hybrid seeds, Tunnel farming and and what not, cold storage is important too, for local consumption and exports, but all these investments are usually done by private companies, won’t go in further details as the argument will surely drag to politicsSo looks like the problem is on the supply side. The onus is still on the government to take initiatives to implement such policies, pass necessary legislation, and encourage/ support private sector to invest in modern agricultural technologies.Yes a lot of modernisation is needed in many sectors.
