If 1999 is your issue, then Army intervened because PM Nawaz Shareef ordered Musharraf's airplane not to be landed in Pakistan but ordered that it be landed in India, and at the same time announced a new Army Chief, so that the Armed forces get divided.
All this chaos resulted in 1999 Coup. A well deserved Coup.

No it was not. If it were 100% military policy, bhutto would never be martial law administrator, he would never say "suwwar k bachay jahannum me jayein" and he would have transferred the power to Mujeeb instead of calling for his arrest.

The myth of no industry in East Pakistan is a hoax and has been dis-proven time after time after time.

Also, no country considered the situation a war crime other than India.
Military had to fight because Indira Gandhi ordered Indian army to cross and international border into East Pakistan to support the Civil War.
