I am going to reveal something that will be a nightmare for many people who claim descent from Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through his grand sons Hasan and Hussain (RA) , I was going through DNA forums where I found one thread about genetic tests carried out on south asian people who call themselves syed and the result was shocking , they all belong to different blood lineages that do not converge within last 1500 years. I am sorry to state that genetically it is proven now that at least 80-90 % people who call themselves syeds are not descended from the lineage of Hasnain (RA). Most of the families adopted this syed title at various points in history and there were ocassions when different kings in iran awarded this title to many families due to their loyality to them, Ibne Batuta wrote that when he travelled to indian subcontinet some 800 years ago he was shocking called syed and learnt that at that time arabs (of any lineage) were called syed which was quite odd for him. Even the people who call themselves Sharifs (syeds in arab countries ) also dont have common lineage that would converge to 1400 years ago.
So at the moment the thread in DNA forums is having a great difficulty to explore the lineage of real syeds due to various lineages existing in the people who call themselves syeds or Sharifs (in middle east) these days.

I've two questions:
1. Here its mentioned in second paragraph that Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) had 7-children, all of them with Hazrat Khadija (RA). But when you mentioned the names of all the Umma-ha-tulMaumineen, you mentioned strictly that the Prophetr had 6-children (5-children with Hazrat Khadija (RA) and Hazrat Ibrahim (RA) with Hazrat MAria Qabtia (RA).
2. I must also search-out this but I've ver important question to all of you. Dr Hamid-ullah; a very famous Islamic scholar in France for his religious work, writes in his book ( رسول اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی سیاسی زندگی,صفحہ 65 ) that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) married to Hazrat Khadija (RA) when she was 28 years old and he himself was 25 years old. And Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had 7-children and all of them with Hazrat Khadija (RA). The names are:
1. Hazrat Qasim (RA),
2. Hazrat Tahir (RA)
3. Hazrat Tayyab (RA)
4. Hazrat Zaineb (RA)
5. Hazrat Ruqqayya (RA)
6. Hazrat Umm-e-Kalsoom (RA)
7. Hazrat Fatima (RA)
The order of the children is as follows: (If considered the age 40 yrs)
42-Hazrat Qasim (RA)
45-Hazrat Zaineb (RA)
48-Hazrat Ruqayya (RA)
55-Hazrat Abdullah (RA)
55-60- Hazrat Umm-e-Kalsoom (RA)
60-Hazrat Fatima
(I don't find the name Hazrat Abdullah (RA)).
And also its very much difficult to accept scientifically that a woman can be a mother at the age of 60 and imagine in the climatic conditions of the Arab.
The age was also mentioned in " کتاب المجر " by Ibn-e-Habib (25 years Prophet Muhammad PBUH and 28 years Hazrat Khadija (RA)). And the same age was written in " نقوش رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جلد 2 صفحہ 64" .
I've another question: About the age of Hazrat Aysha (RA) when she got married. (19 years at the time of marriage)
I've read one book: A Research Work "Age of Aysha" written by Allama Habib-ur-Rehman Siddiqi Kandhalvi
Another book "سيرت عائشہ" written by Suleman Nidvi. He also qouted about the age of Hazrat Aisha. You can read this book to know for more information.

Jazak Allah brother for this nice info however Allah hates those who lie and add lie towards his prophet. Hazarat Khadijah was married before and have daughters from her first husband. The only biological surviving child she has was Hazarat Fatima. You can join as many lies to add three daughters to his name...it will not become truth. Please refrain adding lie to our beloved prophet and his children. Please read history or sareet un nabi by mulana shabli nomani and other authentic historians.
Please don`t be jealous of syeds....I know u ve great desire in your heart if your were a syed but unfortunatly its Allah`s will who is syed and who is not..don`t worry Allah `ll nevr judge you from your ancestors he `ll judge you from you deeds good or bad...syeds have history for about 1400 years ago..nobody proved them wrong...and now I can see lot of people like u are jeoulous of their status even though its not they who obliged their staus on people like u..people respect syed coz they feel its only generation from their beloved Rasool(sw) and they should take care of their Rasool(sw) generation...but everybody has to be answerable in front of Allah for their good or bad deed not for ethnicity....

thanks for the correction .... as far as my limited research is concerned I mentioned it earlier .... while during the research I found that Our Beloved Holy Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (S. A .W) has 6 Childerns 4 Daughters and 2 Sons. (sunni view) and shia view is that S.A.W have only one daughter..... em not interested to start here some religious/racialism/cast debate .... I shared as I got during my search ..... although em trying to find more about it with some authentic references ..... you people are welcome to come with some authentic reference for the disagreement ...... we will have to correct ourselves instead of giving "FATAWA" ...... I hope I cleared myself ......Allah Almighty knows best ......May Allah guide us all to the straight path!

Man this is modern word, the interest to determine the true lineage of syeds is also due to the fact that it can determine the lineage of prophet Ibrahim (AS) as we know our prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is descended from him through his son Prophet Ismail (AS). So that is why there is a huge interest to determine the true lineage of Hasnain (RA) in the DNA research community in the particularly in the arab world for whom the blood lineage is a matter of great pride. Now if the modern genetic research on syeds is exposing some harsh realities that are difficult to digest for many people in this country which is too simple then it is not the fault of science. DNA tests have become the most prominent technology to trace the lineage of diffirent communities. And why you feel I am jealous , I am not I am a scientist and have huge interest in scietific forums which usually check regularly and I came across this topic which was interesting for me and I just described the results I found there which are 100 % scientific. Now tell me do you think this guy Yusuf Raza gilani is a true descendant of Hasnain (RA), give me a break, have a look at his character yourself.

If that is the case ..which i know really is the casse as at the time of partition of sub continent many people hanged their sir names and cast and even now people who come illegal to pakistan from Bangladesh they put syed and shah as their sir names ... as i knw few of them personally... but wanted to ask you one thing as they say hairs and bones are good source of getting DNA profile so is it possible to get the DNA profile of NABI PAK (SAW) as we all know his hairs are preserved and are on display in diff museums and masjid like in turkey or in egypt and even i heard about few in pak also ..so what is ur say on this ... as i believe this will be enough proof that he was true messenger (SAW)of Allah as for sure his (SAW)profile will be the most perfect one among all menkind ALHUMDOLILLAH.

To extract DNA from bones is possible unless the bones have been preserved but from hair I am not that sure. But DNA from bones of prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is a very unlikely scenario that would involve diging the grave which no muslim in the world will allow. So the only thing they are doing at the moment is that they are comparing the DNA results of people who claim descent from prophet and are trying to figure out which lineage is present in all such groups all over the muslim world and if that lineage is also present in other adanite arabic tribes of central saudi arabia because Quraish which was the tribe of our prophet was an Adananite Arabic tribe, it is complex. they are making some progress but it seems like it is going to take a long time before true lineage of the descendants of prophet is identified. So far important results have come from the Hashmite family that rules Jordan and the lineage in them is also one major lineage among other isolated adnanite tribes of central saudi arabia, few days ago there was a result posted there about Banu Shaiba family that holds the keys of Khana Kaaba and this duty was bestowed upon them by prophet himself when he said that oh Banu Shaiba I am handing you the keys of this khana kaaba and you will hold it till the day of judgement, the results of Banu shaiba family which is a branch of Quraish of Makkah is found to be different than that of Hashmite monarch family of jordan. So it is really very complex picture at the moment. A lot of jews are also very interested to know the lineage of our prophet because then they want to varify the lineage of Prophet ibrahim (AS) from whom they claim descent, so all together it is very fascinating topic among some genetic researchers and I hope we will reach to some conclusion in near future.

Character...this is the thing most people think syed are of good character..dear u said this is modren world..are syeds not humans??...they are humans they`ll adopt themselves according to ongoing system..if it comes to DNA how many people u can gather around to check who is right and who is wrong...there are millions of syed in this world..nobody can trace them..i know there are syeds who are very fake even meera noor madiha shah claim to be a syed but my point is how would it be possible to recognize who is real and who is fake.....please don`t judge syed with their character in this era coz this era is full of crupt people....secondly this thing is not limited to only syeds most of the other community people are fake aswell....so let it go like it is going....in this way u are mixing real syeds with fake syeds...n u`ll make more enemies rather friends...

I feel a strong sense of insecurity in your posts, you said there are millions of syeds in the world , If every arab before 1400 years would have left millions of descendants then the population of Saudi arabia today should be in billions but we know it is just aroun 25 million, you dont make any sense, no person in this world can have millions of descendants just in 40 generations, the maximum number of genuine descendants will not be more than few hundred thousands and that too if none of them gets killed due to unfortunate events like wars, diseases etc. I think you dont have a scientific understanding of how a lineage proceeds.

Most of the syeds who have been genetically proven fake afther DNA tests do have shajra nasb which means it is not an indicator of genuinity.

now i really understand why people say scientist don`t ve minds.....i m fully agree with those people...i just made a supposition that there are lots of syeds in this world and how u gona manage to reach each of them and explain your so called theory to them and invite them can you please go with me i want your syed test??...u took one sentence out of many and thought is the only thing i m talking about... but forgot other sentences i wrote>??...anyway if you can make some syed agree for your DNA test wish you best of luck....but if he `ll still be a real syed then wt would u do to eliminate your jealousy??..new theory??
yes this is the right way to find out real syed...if he got shajra nasab then he is real syed...
