Your input required on Siasat.pk's new main page design.

Hi guys,

I'm designing siasat.pk's new home page. I would like to have your in-put in this.

Design Information

We are going with similar structure with three columns on the top. Instead of load more we have next, previous, home and refresh icons on the bottom of the columns. The size of thumbnail images in the column of each thread is now increased for better visibility.

The home page has extended sections on the bottom of the three columns. Second segment on the page is blogs where member's latest blogs will be published. The area has a next previous button to browse the blogs.

Third segment has two areas. Left we have Twitter feeds, showcasing Journalists, politicians, celebrities, and ISPR. On the right hand side we have Siasat Official Media and its most recent video will be available to play right from the home page. More videos can be browsed as well.

پچھلی دفعہ جب فرنٹ پیچ تبدیل کیا گیا تھا میں نے اس وقت بھی توجہ دلائی تھی کے سیاست. پی کے کا لوگو بہت بڑا ہے. اگر اسے چھوٹا کر دے جائے تو بہت سی جگہ استعمال میں آ جاۓ گی

Question, would hitting next previous buttons refresh the whole page? I hope not.


Also I've noticed sometime you get duplicate results in the lists.

it won't refresh the whole page, only the segment will refresh with new threads.

Layout acha hai leiken proposed design mein thumbnails bahot baray lag rahay hain ... agar size thora sa kam ker dia jaey, it will not only provide more space on the page but load quickly too.

You need to improve the search function. Make it Anchor Based, Show Based, Topic Based. For reference you might want to have a look at Awaz.tv
i always go to Awaz.tv whenever (i.e. most of the times) I cant search something i am looking for

We should have option to delete our own thread if it is duplicate.

Add all live News TV Channels at right side, give user the option to select 1 TV and watch that sticky TV.

Its very good idea to watch TV along with reading threads.

Please make it easier for new threads to be posted by new members.
Also may be few more options within the categories to post a new thread.

Another idea is to show only those threads in section 'Being discussed right now' which are not new (which are not on middle column). Because we see duplicate threads on middle and right column, most of the time.
