Court on Sunday ordered amputation of the right hand and left foot of a man convicted of robbery.

SANAA (AFP) - A Yemeni court on Sunday ordered the amputation of the right hand and left foot of a man convicted of robbery, the official Saba news agency said.
The court in Sanaa found Abdulrahman al-Juri guilty of attacking a man and robbing a sum of cash he was transporting in a vehicle belonging to a money exchange firm, Saba reported.
Amputation of limbs is a punishment stipulated by sharia, or Islamic law for robbery. Two other defendants were sentenced to four years in prison, while a fourth was jailed for one year.
The judge also ordered the release of three others, saying they had already spent enough time in custody.
Saba did not say when the robbery took place or how long the defendants have been behind bars.

First it has to be determined that what and why did he rob. If a hungry, homeless or unemployed person stole a loaf of bread than that is not punishable by any means. Of course such forms of so-called Islamic justice in such hypocritical countries are only for the defenceless and downtrodden.
